Hi there.

I am being asked by one of my clients to provide en-GB-oed as a spelling option for some of the jobs they send me.
This is a client who also sends a pretty comprehensive check list to be completed at the end of each job stating what services have been performed etc.
Since I am reluctant to be "held" to having performed an en-GB-oed spell check if I haven't actually done one - obviously I can include as many of the obvious OED spelling variants as I can remember

Hi there.

I am being asked by one of my clients to provide en-GB-oed as a spelling option for some of the jobs they send me.
This is a client who also sends a pretty comprehensive check list to be completed at the end of each job stating what services have been performed etc.
Since I am reluctant to be "held" to having performed an en-GB-oed spell check if I haven't actually done one - obviously I can include as many of the obvious OED spelling variants as I can remember - I am only willing to check this option if I can find automated spell check resources.

I have maneged to find an en-GB-oed dictionary on the web which has been designed for use with Mozilla products.

On my Mac I have been able to copy this into my "Spelling" library and this is now recognised as an option in the Mac spell checker.

However, I cannot get Word 2011 on my Mac to recognise this as a language variant dictionary or as a Custom dictionary - any suggestions regarding this.
Also, I will presumably encounter similar problems when I try to implement the dictionary in Word 2010 on my PC.

From the same source as the en-GB-oed disctionary, I can also obtain the source text file used for its creation. I was hoping there may be some way of importing this into a Word custom dictionary, but can't seem to find an obvious way. I can create a new custom dictionary but only add entries to it one at a tme.

Another option may be to use stand-alone spell checkers and this is something I have only really begun to research. Any suggestions regarding this option would be most welcome.

In short, opinions on the use of such spelling variants and the potential tools that may be vailable to provide automated spell-check functions are all welcome.
