Pedal Car

See link, does it simply means "modèle réduit" or does the Pedal part really refers to something.

Thank you

Non-PRO (1): writeaway

When entering new questions, KudoZ askers are given an opportunity* to classify the difficulty of their questions as 'easy' or 'pro'. If you feel a question marked 'easy' should actually be marked 'pro', and if you have earned more than 20 KudoZ points, you can click the "Vote PRO" button to recommend that change.

How to tell the difference between "easy" and "pro" questions:

An easy question is one that any bilingual person would be able to answer correctly. (Or in the case of monolingual questions, an easy question is one that any native speaker of the language would be able to answer correctly.)

A pro question is anything else... in other words, any question that requires knowledge or skills that are specialized (even slightly).

Another way to think of the difficulty levels is this: an easy question is one that deals with everyday conversation. A pro question is anything else.

When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.

* Note: non-member askers are not given the option of entering 'pro' questions; the only way for their questions to be classified as 'pro' is for a ProZ.com member or members to re-classify it.

Discussion

Proelec May 5, 2008:
De mon temps, c'étaient bien des pédales actionnées par un mouvement de va-et-vient .... et je faisais la course avec mes petits voisins ......
Juan Jacob May 4, 2008:
...never used that as a child though. --> So, you're young.
Jonathan MacKerron May 4, 2008:
a small, model car that one (usually a child) sits in and pedals like a bicycle in order to move it ahead

voiturette à pédales

It is a child-size, driveable version of the original, in this case.

http://site-genie.com/news/archive/news_item.asp?NewsID=226&... :

"March 2002: We receive an official invitation from the Fédération Européene de la Voiture à Pédalier - France's own Federation of Pedal Car Racing - to join them for a weekend of racing at St. Etienne de Chigny. Sadly, no teams are able to make the trip from the UK, however Karbyk do go and as a result we receive a collection of pictures of French pedal car racing."
