Wikipedia
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Negative_equity

Negative equity is a term used to refer to when the value of an asset used to secure a loan is less than the outstanding balance on the loan[1]. In the Unites States, assets (particularly real estate) with negative equity are often referred to as being "underwater", and loans and borrowers with negative equity are said to be "upside down".
Definition from Wikipedia:
Example sentences:
(Bursa Asigurarilor - website)
Cand banca imprumuta bani unui asa numit NINJA (no income, no jobs and assets - fara venit, fara serviciu sau proprietati), cu o amortizare negativa si o rata initiala promotionala, juca, la randul sau o schema Ponzi, explica analistul Nouriel Roubini, profesor la Stern Business School si Universitatea din New York.
