English term

pitted marcite

English to French Tech/Engineering Materials (Plastics, Ceramics, etc.)
Hi everyone,

I am translating a sale and purchase agreement, in which the warranty section provides the following:

"Cosmetic conditions" means easthetic imperfections that do not affect the working condition of the item, including pitted marcite; tears, worn spots and discoloration of floor coverings/wallpapers/window treatments; (...)

Do you have any idea of what "pitted marcite" could be? I did find a few Google hits, but nothing promising...

I need you help before midnight EST please :)
Many thanks in advance!

Marcite présentant des défauts

voir URL ci-dessous (milieu de page, à droite) :
Marcite is a quality material that is used in a variety of commercial and residential constructions projects. Marcite is typically used to make a stylish, functional surface area around pools, but it can also be used for decks, patios and walkways throughout an outdoor space.

Possibly. And note that I gave an overall level of 2. However, context is important : we are speaking about case where guarantee is EXCLUDED, this is why I thought a more general wording was enough. But we can be more precise, with "piquée" for instance (not piqûrée).

Thank you so much to all of you! Yes, I actually think that it would usually make a difference, but here I feel that remaining vague should work better.

neutral kashew : Pitting seems more specific than defects. Important detail in insurance?
