French term

grand sujets

French to English Other Real Estate
I am translating descriptions for luxury villas, and this is part of the description. This is the main heading:
JARDIN ELABORE
followed by:
Grands sujets-sujets de structures
which is then followed by:
PALMIERS - Phoenix dactylifera h. de stipe= 300/500 4 U
OLIVIERS - Olea europea (25-30 ans) 12 U
Melia(400/450) 1 U

I realize that they're listing what kind of trees and plants are on the property, but I'm just not sure how to translate "grand sujets" here. Subjects or topics certainly doesn't seem right. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thank you in advance!
Proposed translations (English)
5 focal plants
3 +1 lofty trees
3 +1 main items
3 specimen tree

4 KudoZ points awarded for this answer. Comment: "The rest of the list includes shrubs and ground cover, so I felt that "focal plants" and "structural plants", worked nicely. Thanks!!!"

specimen tree

Specimen is often used, at least in US EN, for the big ticket items in a garden.

Note from asker:
I really liked this option as well, but ACOZ's answer fit well with the rest of the context. I'm going to put this in my glossary though for future reference. Thank you!

Mediadico has this:
Terme de jardinage. L'arbre qu'on destine à être greffé, ou que l'on soumet à cette opération.

However, the gardening sites below seem to use the term to refer to a large specimen, as Ann suggests.
