AllegroTrans (asker) Apr 2, 2011:
Thanks to everyone Looking at the company's products listed on their website seemed to indicate that they manufacture all kinds of specialist vehicles and machines. It seemed reasonable to assume that some of these would have to be towed, so that's what I used in the end.
AllegroTrans (asker) Mar 29, 2011:
In answer to Tony M It's a public liability policy for a very large engineering company that is involved in multiple activities. The part of the policy involves defines the vehicles and activities covered. There is no mention of vehicles at people's homes.

French term (edited): véhicule levé

raised vehicle

Could it be as simple as vehicles that are raised up (on ramps, axle stands, jack, etc.)? Note that there are some Googles that use this source term in exactly this sense (once you can get rid of the search 'pollution'!)

It might help if you told us what kind of insurance this is?

And also, if it is likely to be referring to vehicles out on the road, or vehicles at someone's home?
