Discussion

jmleger Aug 9, 2012:
Usually it's a piece of molded plastic around the connector. It gives a little, but not enough to cause a separation of the wire/cable and connector. A "gaine" in cable tech is a sheath and is used to provide electrical insulation. Si collier ne vous parle pas trop, vous pouvez utiliser "bague" (cf.http://www.directindustry.fr/prod/heyco/bagues-anti-traction...
Céline Hérouart (asker) Aug 9, 2012:
OK but wouldn't it be "gaine anti-traction" rather than "collier anti-traction"?
jmleger Aug 9, 2012:
An excessive bend produces a traction strain at the connection, so I pretty much think "anti-traction" covers it all.
Tony M Aug 9, 2012:
strain relief doesn't only refer to tensile strain — more generally, it refers things that avoid, for example, excessively sharp bend radii; as is of course important with f/o.

et voilà. Although i don't see why they specify it's short. a strain relief boot is as long as it needs to be.
