Bio
After multidisciplinary studies
in history, sociology and languages, I chose to become a translator. By a
certain chance, I now specialize in IT and engineering. However, I have
translated in many fields, and since I have a curious mind, I have many other interests
and am open to every opportunity to diversify. This desire to learn and add new
strings to my bow has more recently led me to train as a Web copywriter, an
activity I'm now developing alongside my translation assignments.
Although I'm well-versed in
technical texts, I will forever be a literary person. Gifted with a nimble pen
and a creative mind, I know how to hit the nail on the head and make an impact
when given some freedom. These qualities make me particularly adept at
transcreation, especially for marketing or advertising texts that play with
words. With this type of material, I almost forget that I'm working, because
I'm really enjoying myself.
As a perfectionist by nature,
sleepless nights and (too) tight deadlines have also taught me to cut to the
chase when circumstances dictate (or budget, for let's face it, you've got to
eat). I'm also a very hard worker. So, even when I'm swamped, I always work
with my customers to find a compromise timeframe that allows me to meet their
orders. In any case, I'm extremely reactive, and it's very rare that I don't
reply to an e-mail within a few hours, or even within the hour, depending on
the time zone difference.
