French term

EBE sur CA

French to English Bus/Financial Accounting Business plan for water extraction startup
I don't work in this field, it's part of a larger technical document.

Capacité d'autofinancement
RN sur CA
REX sur CA
**EBE sur CA**

After each of the three headings there are the forecast figures for the next 5 years, going from initially negative sums to positive sums.
I assume CA means turnover, but in the light of the initials in the term "Capacité d'Autofinancement" I need confirmation.

Discussion

rkillings Feb 23, 2013:
@helena No, EBIT is revenue less (i.e., after) operating expenses (which include depreciation and amortisation) plus non-operating income. EBITDA *adds back* depreciation and amortisation, which are non-cash expenses; like EBE in French, it is a more cash-based measure than EBIT alone. In view of the range of answers and my own lack of specialisation in this field, I've asked the agency to have the document checked by a specialist. For the moment I'm using GOP on turnover.
Thank you all for your help and explanations - I've recorded it for future use. I'll keep it open until I hear from the client.
papier Feb 23, 2013:
About a comment done under my reply as I don't see any other space to anser it:
EBITDA and EBIT: both are gross profits (earnings BEFORE any other calculation).

EBITDA / revenue

Use the English acronym. Not exactly the same notion as EBE, but close enough as makes little difference.

You can safely assume that the internal financing measure is abbreviated CAF, not CA.

agree papier : More precisely: EBIT/Revenue (closer to EBE)http://www.berkshirehathaway.com/qtrly/3rdqtr12.pdf

No, EBE is 'brut', before depreciation/amortisation (like EBITDA), not after (like EBIT).
