English term

dispute

English to French Other General / Conversation / Greetings / Letters video game context
The objective of the game is very simple: in the least amount of time possible, eliminate all of the stones by connecting the identical pairs. The right moves make the player closer to earning three stars: the faster the pairs are formed, the bigger the chance of keeping the level on the star bar (on the left corner of the screen) elevated.
The most praised qualities by the players are the fast and challenging nature of the game and the thematic and fun presentation. The app has exclusive options like six unique themes, three different types of stones and a zoom tool, which improves the viewing of the game. Furthermore, it is possible to ask for tips and play with the free stones “lit”, making it easier to complete the combinations. However, both these options make the player lose points.
Mahjong’s dispute occurs in the systems’ ranking: Game Center in the iOS and Ranking in Google Play. The player’s results are saved and the performance is compared to other players using the same platform.

Change log

Jul 29, 2014 20:09: writeaway changed "Field (specific)" from "Gaming/Video-games/E-sports" to "General / Conversation / Greetings / Letters" , "Field (write-in)" from "(none)" to "video game context"

Votes to reclassify question as PRO/non-PRO:

Non-PRO (2): mchd, GILLES MEUNIER

When entering new questions, KudoZ askers are given an opportunity* to classify the difficulty of their questions as 'easy' or 'pro'. If you feel a question marked 'easy' should actually be marked 'pro', and if you have earned more than 20 KudoZ points, you can click the "Vote PRO" button to recommend that change.

How to tell the difference between "easy" and "pro" questions:

An easy question is one that any bilingual person would be able to answer correctly. (Or in the case of monolingual questions, an easy question is one that any native speaker of the language would be able to answer correctly.)

A pro question is anything else... in other words, any question that requires knowledge or skills that are specialized (even slightly).

Another way to think of the difficulty levels is this: an easy question is one that deals with everyday conversation. A pro question is anything else.

When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.

* Note: non-member askers are not given the option of entering 'pro' questions; the only way for their questions to be classified as 'pro' is for a ProZ.com member or members to re-classify it.

Agree with polyglot Like everyone said the sentence sounds very bizarre. The correct meaning is probably close to what polyglot45 suggested.

Linked to "most praised qualities", perhaps? I suspect it means that players most like the game itself and least like the ranking system. But if so then it's said in a very odd way.
Sheila Wilson Jul 30, 2014:
"Mahjong’s dispute occurs"? I imagine the first answer is a correct translation of the English word. However, it's a very odd sentence in English. (Hah: Kashew just beat me to it while I'm typing!).

How does one interpret the strange "English"?: "Mahjong’s dispute occurs in the systems’ ranking: Game Center in the iOS."
