قانون الكسب الغير مشروع

Arabic to English Law/Patents Real Estate
It's an Egyptian law and is mentioned in a sales contract for a house, what does it involve and what is the best translation, is there an equivalent law in UK?

Sorry but can't post script in Arabic text as a professional I've only ever translated into my mother tongue so haven't seen the need to acquire Arabic script capability - though might be useful for fora like this.
Nesrin Mar 1, 2005:
I agree with Fuad though I can understand if you find this text hard to decipher. You should tell your client that you shouldn't be expected to translate an Arabic text "transliterated" in such a ridiculous way (I expect that "khdw'a" is )
Fuad Yahya Mar 1, 2005:
Question head has been modified in accordance with the asker's last added note. Asker is requested to post future Arabic questions in Arabic script for clarity. If asker is a professional translator, then the ability to enter Arabic text is expected.

Sorry, about the delay but have been waiting for a cleaner faxed copy, one has finally arrived, here goes: 'adm khdhw'a ai mnhma (vendor & purchaser of the property) lqanwn alksb algir mshrw'a, hope this helps! Many thanks in advance for everyone's help.
Fuad Yahya Mar 1, 2005:
We are still waiting for the full phrase.
Fuad Yahya Feb 27, 2005:
Please post the full phrase. As stated, the phrase is meaningless.
Nesrin Feb 27, 2005:
Probably (Qanun al-kasb ghayr al-mashru', or, incorrectly, Qanun al-kasb al-ghayr mashru') - will try to come up with a proper answer to your questions..

Illegal Gains Law

This is what the Egyptian law is called. It's to do with banking, money laundering and corruption, and how to avoid these problems in transactions :-)
I hope the following link helps:

http://www4.worldbank.org/legal/legop_judicial/ljr_conf_pape...
In view of the close linkage between crimes of corruption and crimes of moneylaundering where the delinquents seek to conceal the illegal source of theircriminal proceeds through local and international money laundering operations inorder to legalize their gains, a legislation should be enacted prohibiting suchmoney laundering operations. This is a matter under study especially since Egyptjoined the United Nations Vienna Convention of 1988. Certain provisions, however, contribute to combating money laundering such as the Illegal GainsLaw, the Protection of Values Law, the Penal Code, and the Law AgainstNarcotics.

I suppose this would come under the law of fraud in the UK, with different acts of law to deal with the specific offence committed. Are there any mentioned in the contract?

Law on illegal/illicit/unlawful earnings/profits

I'm not aware of the contents of this law, so it may be any of the possibilities above - it may help if you provide more context.
