Coronal Polishing is the mechanical removal of plaque and stain from the coronal surfaces of
the teeth, which is the crown surface above the gingiva. Coronal polish is limited to this area,
the clinical crown, that which you can see when examining the mouth. Polishing of teeth is
concerned primarily a cosmetic procedure; however, the small elements of plague and debris
left behind following a scaling or prophylaxis is removed through mechanical polishing.
