English to Polish Medical Medical: Instruments

Four crossbred sows (two Yorkshire-sired, third lactation; one Landrace-sired and one Hampshiresired, sixth lactation) were anesthetized on the day after farrowing with 400 mg of Telazol (tiletamine HCl and zolazepam HCl; Fort Dodge Laboratories Inc., Fort Dodge, Iowa) and 400 mg of xylazine HCl, i.m., before placement of ear vein catheters (Angiocath, 20 gauge, 5.1 cm; Becton Dickson Vascular Access, Sandy UT). A 20-cm extension (Pharmacia Deltec, Inc., St. Paul, MN) was attached to the catheter and held in place with tape.
