German term
gestreckte Felsmauern
German to English
Science
Geology
glaciers
This is what I have so far:
In particular along the northern coast and in the Lofoten, the mountains are eroded on all sides by corries and so the dividing crests are reduced to narrow ridges and the mountains that used to be dome or cone-shaped now appear as sharp-edged pyramids, trapezoids or stretched walls of rock.
Is there a geological term for this?

extended walls of rock
Or elongated, or just long. For walls of rock, also cliffs, or pallisades if you need to wax lyrical. I don't think there is a special geological term for this.

It has just dawned on me that you are actually describing an arete. I'm not sure that you really need a geological term, because your source text doesn't use geological terms either, only general descriptions. P.S. Weren't you called Scheiblein a short while ago?
