Wierze, wierze. Perhaps, it says that because I do not have Polish characters on my keyboard. Who knows?

OK.
bartek May 1, 2004:
be patient, I keep thinking:-)
Non-ProZ.com May 1, 2004:
Thanks bartek! I know what you mean. My problem is that if I say 'Oh, that's tautology' and people will say 'Oh, what's tautology?', you know what I mean... So, I am still on a quest for a more common word(if such obviously exists).
Non-ProZ.com May 1, 2004:
OK. I know what tautology is. I had it on my Logic lessons at university (things like 'Boys are boys', etc). However, I thought there would be another translation (not 'tautology' for maslo maslane), but perhaps there is not one?

OK. Context: You are going to see a lawyer (hypothetically). And you tell them a story (or you describe something) and the lawyer says 'Alez to maslo maslane'. hmmm, nie wiem czy sie dobrze wyrazilam???

Non-ProZ.com May 1, 2004:
I mean how do you translate that saying 'maslo maslane' into English.
Non-ProZ.com May 1, 2004:
hmmm, no. I mean I know it is tautology. My point is how do you translate that into English.

I understand your problem, but I don\'t know such a phrase. Perhaps something like:
\"you keep repeating the same facts\" or something like that?

redundancy - should be suitable
zbędny, zbyteczny; niekonieczny, niepotrzebny; jęz. rozwlekły (o stylu); zbędny (o słowie).

redundantly:
nadmiernie, zbytecznie; niekoniecznie, niepotrzebnie.

\"Oh, that\'s redundancy\" - doesn\'t it sound more colloquial?
Peer comment(s):

agree madziag : Bartek jest blizej prawdy: A pleonasm consists of two concepts (usually two words) that are redundant.Well, how about "more than enough; overabundant; excess; and superfluous"
