BTW, I have this game and have played it. Basically, you start out with a primitive society and start building mills, factories, refineries, etc. Many hours later, after clicking the crap out of your mouse, you end up with a futuristic society and a sore arm.
Other studies have been performed on Age of Empires, a game with similar characteristics. The evolutionary nature of this game allows historical processes to be understood.
