the next highest constant (class)
the noun is "clase diamétrica" = "diameter class"
If *constant* were the noun, than the phrase in spanish should be "la constante inmediata superior"

Note from asker:
AFAIK "constant" is a noun in the answer you propose, but in the Spanish I can't tell whether it's an adj or not... Anyway, thanks for helping on this, my mind's gone blank... |
