Any idea how to translate the above. It appears in a text about the orography of the area in which Fabas Asturianas are grown.
La orografía de la zona es muy accidentada y de grandes contrastes fisiográficos.
Se pueden diferenciar, de sur a norte, cuatro unidades morfológicas: la cuenca central hullera, formada por los valles que fluyen a la cuenca de Oviedo, el surco prelitoral que constituye una depresión determinada por las fallas alpinas utilizadas por la red fluvial para labrar el valle moderno que separa la montaña interior de las alturas costeras, las serranías costeras, entre las que destaca la sierra de Cuera, y las zonas de rasas litorales, escalonadas.

perhaps "channel" is better than depression because it indicates a long continuous formation, also "depression" comes in the description and repetition is best avoided, however I couldn't find any examples with "prelitoral channel"
