home style

Husmanskost is home style cooking.
Think for example Wasa Husman which is baked according to an old home style baking recipe.

homely fare

In context, what you are looking for is clearly "husmanskost".

A "husman" is a permanently resided worker out in the fields or forests. I suppose "husmanskost" was traditionally what he ate.

"Homely fare" is proper dinner as opposed to pizzas and sushi etc which seems to be the only thing restaurants in Sweden offer.
