I am satisfied with my business and income, but there is still room for improvement.

This year I am going to try and fix some small details that bother me on a daily basis. These changes will certainly save me a few hours of work per week.

I also intend to finally get started on my website. I do not expect new clients to find it and contact me through it, but I can send my prospects there to learn more about me. Othan than being more presentable as a freelancer, I hope

I also intend to finally get started on my website. I do not expect new clients to find it and contact me through it, but I can send my prospects there to learn more about me. Othan than being more presentable as a freelancer, I hope this will also reduce the number of "Tell me more about yourself" inquiries.

For me 2017 started with a bang, but as we all know this profession has more ups and downs than a roller coaster! So, I’ll be philosophical and say: “We’ll see!”

As far as I'm working direct and Jan 26, 2017

As far as my clients in biz and keep working in our region, I think that our coop will be somewhat similar to the previous year, thus, quite fruitful for us.

Perhaps, it's due to a combo of interpreting (75%) and translation (25%), plus my other relevant skills.

Cheers

I don't really understand the question. I hope and, initially, assume that my "business" will remain steady.

I really do not think about it. I take projects as they come.
But really I go on month by month and I do not have any expectations (neither negative nor positive).

Not sure Jan 26, 2017

But I'd feel a lot more optimistic if I had some Mexican wall-building companies in my client base

I am very optimistic about my translation business getting a huge boost this year!!! I am working hard to meet my targets and continue learning and sharing ideas with my translators colleagues

Somewhat Jan 27, 2017

So far, my expectations have been exceeded, but I'm not holding my breath.

I grumbled last year that one of my main clients had retired, but apparently they made her an offer she couldn't refuse, as she is back in business in her old job after a year's absence and sent me work today.

Since 2013, my portfolio, my volume of work and my income heve grown regularly. I'm getting rid of undesireable clients, refusing undesireable jobs, and improving my protfolio gradually. In 2016, with many people complaining of a crisis and low income, I sat quietly in my corner wondering why it wasn't happening to me. So 2017 will surely be great.

Hope the panorama gets better!!! Feb 1, 2017

Although the last 8 years have been steady and profitable, 2016 saw an awful fall in total income ... due to the increased use of TMs by the big agencies, the jobs are getting smaller, though there are a lot more jobs ... with the harsh income tax policies for self-employed freelancers in the USA, life can be as unhappy as it comes. I hope to conquer more well-paid jobs. Let's hope for an improvement.

In memoriam
Not at all Feb 1, 2017

2016 was a very bad year, the worst ever, and 2017 promises to be much, much worse. The country has 13 million people unemployed, the highest taxes in the world and the highest interest rates in the world. Things look bleak to say the least.

The demand is increasing Feb 1, 2017

In the languages I handle today (Hawaiian, Marshallese, Chuukese, Samoan, Tongan,Yapese and Hiligaynon) there is an increased demand. I hope that I will be able to handle it.
