I am a former Information Systems executive with a strong technical background in IT technology, software and systems. I became a full time translator after a stroke three years ago. My experience in translations dates back a total of 25 years, albeit part-time for the most part. For the last 3 years I have been working regularly as a translator for scientific and technical, software, political and economic subjects from English to Portuguese and vice versa, as well as from Spanish to English.
A great part of this work was dedicated to marketing materials and corporate presentations, folders, data sheets, and brochures.
My most challenging work was the translation of two rather technical software manuals for a software developer in Brazil. Next was the adaptation of marketing brochures on BI, security, and ITSM software to the brazilian market.
My normal rate is USD .05, but may vary depending on subject, target language and urgency.
