I am German by birth, left Germany when I was 17, attended the end of my highschool career on Long Island, NY, went to art school in Richmond, VA and film school in Los Angeles, eventually I finished my mech. eng. diploma at TU Braunschweig. I worked as a teaching assistant and computer programmer to fund my studies.
After moving to the UK in the early 90s, I have worked pretty much all my professional life in the field of film and television, as camera man, editor, designer, eventually for the last 15 years as a vfx supervisor for big studio productions. As such, I have written numerous copies for websites like "the Art of VFX" or magazines like "Cinefex" and given talks in front of hundreds of people about my work, be it English or German.
For a change, I am also a SLOAN Fellow from London Business school, graduated with an M.Sc in Management and a thesis on intellectual property rights. I have worked as a manager, COO and change manager for various companies in film and TV post production.
The summer of 2014 saw me move to the South of France, the Aveyron, where I am now living. I am still working in film as a creative and supervisor. Lately I have started translating, initially through friends and subsequently their recommendations. So far it's been medical papers on bio engineering research and a big website for a bespoke travel agency.
