My love for learning foreign languages came to life when I was in secondary school, first with English, then Spanish, Italian and later on at university with Portuguese and Hebrew. After spending the last 20 years happily teaching English to young pupils, I felt it was time for a change. After completing a 12-month training in translation, editing and proof-reading, I graduated and decided to settle as a freelance translator. In the meantime, in September 2018, I volunteered as a translator for Cineuropa (www.cineuropa.org) and have been collaborating with them since then. I even got the chance to stand in for their in-house translator last June. I’m a highly-qualified professional translator with flexible time management and good communication skills, both written and oral. I’m reliable, hard-working, detail-oriented and efficient. I specialize in a number of sectors such as cinema and media, education and e-learning, tourism, arts and crafts, culture, architecture and civil engineering, but as I’m not one to rest on my laurels and am eager to learn new things, I’m open to many other areas of expertise. I’m committed not only to translating from English and Italian to French, but also to communicating the true meaning behind each word, with a focus on style and effect. As well as being able to work to tight deadlines, I can assure you that rigour, quality and accuracy are key to my approach. |
