Bio
I have worked for 20 years in the field of languages, be that as a translator/interpreter or as a humanitarian/para humanitarian and think tank member. With teaching languages on the side.
I am a French national but once lived for 12 years or so in Dublin, Ireland where I worked as a teacher of foreign languages and as an interpreter. This was mainly within the art/media/advertising and tourism industries.
Back in France to look after my parents until their passing, I mostly limited myself to translation work in the greater- and para-humanitarian fields on one side and counterterrorism/protection of civilian populations from terrorism on the other side. With these as core, I nonetheless kept on taking projects in other fields, whenever I had some time left, and so I am still familiar with various aspects of language translation.
I have worked on various fields such as multimedia and live courses for armed forces in dealing with the threat of terrorism as well as organizing emergency medical response for fewer victims; humanitarian support to self sufficiency and protection of victims, brochures, reports, news articles, business deals, art (painting, music, Theater, novel and poetry, film scripts) as well as interpretation and tour guide.
I am also a fashion and jewel designer, with experience and training as an Interior Designer and occasional journalist and writer which further widens my fields of knowledge.
I have a sound enough knowledge of wine (tasting and production) and of some spirits and am fully at ease with culinary matters (Cuisine and nutrition alike; which may explain why the Irish government had enlisted me years, while I lived there, to help on a state program to teach French to their finest students in the tourism and gastronomy industries). I am also knowledgeable on matters dealing with pollution and the environment.gardening for beauty or self sufficiency, niche boutique, tourism, poetry, ethics, think tank of social and societal issues as well a on matters of world economics and upheavals, genealogy, and a few others, see my profile for more info.
I have always volunteered for some pro bono work as well. And for that matter, a big percentage of all my earnings will from now on be used towards the renovation of a property to serve as a free haven for veterans (armed forces, firefighters and police) or those coming back from deployment with a need for a safe place to regain their faith in humanity or to decide on their future career choices.
Not only will you get quality translation, you will be helping a great cause!
