About Vienna Classical Symphony Orchestra of Austria
The Vienna Classical Symphony Orchestra of Austria was founded in 2001 and in charged by Austria’s conductor Svetoslav Borisov and Tommy Oskanian in 2009.It is located in the European cultural capital in Austria, the hub of European culture and Vienna downtown intersection, and has been the implementation of the official formation of a number of important performances, and has been heavily subsidized by the Austrian government departments. Now all the members are young musicians from Germany and Austria who have strong artistic skills, and the orchestra is the annual co-band of Vienna Opera House currently. In addition, conductor Svetoslav Borisov was awarded the “Master” honorary title by the Vienna Opera House and hence this orchestra enjoys a great reputation in Europe.
While sticking to its tradition, the orchestra expanded itself to a three-organization orchestra with 90 persons. In addition to presenting concerts, they are also committed to opera cooperation between Austria and Hungary. Take works by such composers as Straus as an example. Each piece of music they perform brims with Austrian characteristics, annotating brisk, brilliant and exquisite classical and post-Romantic era works with an enthusiastic and lively style. To bring the popular music into the elegant concert hall and delivering those music works which had been forgotten for hundreds of years is the greatest contribution of the orchestra. “Documentary of the 200th Anniversary for Franz Schubert” recorded buy the orchestra was commented as the best work by critics.
The orchestra’s performance style is a dexterously organic combination of sophisticated classical techniques and enthusiastic and unconstrained folk music, in particular waltz and polka by Strauss. Just as what experts have said, Strauss’ works are not strictly classical symphonies but folk dance music and the representative for Vienna’s folk music. Its repertoire includes over 300 pieces of music ranging from Barock to modern ones. It also partners with the Vienna State Opera to launch concerts quarterly at the Golden Hall and accepts invitations from governments of different countries to show up at famous concert halls across the world during music festivals. A host of concert records by the orchestra have been collected and broadcasted by Austria's national radio and TV broadcast service and they are also highly admired and favored by the entire European music field.
The Chinese New Year Concert 2011 is expected to become a new chapter of the orchestra’s New Year concerts. The orchestra hopes to blend China’s classical elements and some famous Vienna State Opera works as well as the style to be maintained under the will of Chief Conductor and Music Director Svetoslav Borisov in the upcoming performance, presenting a high-level music feast and making the entire New Year concert more enjoyable.
