Translator within financial, legal and business fields, working with Portuguese, French and Spanish into English. Specialised in financial and legal translation during Master’s programme.

I am an affiliate of the Institute of Translation & Interpreting (ITI) and an active member of United Nations Volunteers and The Rosetta Foundation for providing translation services.

Background:

I am British, was brought up in Portugal and educated in the French system. I furthered my linguistic knowledge by studying Spanish for my Bachelor’s Degree and living for twelve months in Mexico.

I started in the financial industry as an in-house translator and assisted in developing and managing the translation department for S&P Capital IQ, specialising in the translation of company data, with particular focus on financial statements and press releases. I moved into Index Analysis for S&P Indices where for a number of years, I worked with regulatory documentation, using my languages to process corporate actions, prospectuses, M&A activity, IPOs, capital raisings and other disclosures that were announced throughout the business day. My role also involved applying my analytical and project management skills to work on key projects to refine day-to-day procedures. I trained in Lean Six Sigma for Business Process Management with particular focus on redundancy elimination and process improvement.

Previous roles include working as a commercial interpreter for marketing events and a freelance translator of cartoon scripts and business documentation, for organisations in Portugal and the United Kingdom.

Towards the end of 2011, I started to provide specialised translation services in the financial, legal and business fields. In 2014, I founded Claria Translate Ltd.
