Bio
Born and raised in the US, I lived in Turkey from age 6 months to 3 years, so it was my first acquired language. I spent many summers there and spoke Turkish at home and so I would say I am a near-native speaker and writer in Turkish.

There are benefits to English being my strongest language. Since Turkish and English do not even occupy the same part of the world language "pie," a lot gets lost in translation, and, even worse, sounds silly. I will keep you sounding professional, modern, and most importantly, I will help you avoid the awkwardness of missed colloquialisms and outdated phrasing.

My background is in theater arts, where attention to creative writing drives all that I do. As a producer and editor of Audiobooks, I spend my days immersed in language, and I bring detailed Quality Assurance to the editing process. I deliver retail-ready Audiobook narration to digital distribution powerhouses such as Amazon and iTunes. I also have done voice-overs (translated, voiced, audio-engineered) in Turkish.

Lately, I have been translating academic medical research papers from Turkish to English, for publication in medical journals. As an editor, I use the Chicago Style Manual and AMA style sheets, but am open, of course, to all other formats.

EQUITY and SAG/AFTRA professional film, TV and stage actress with many professional credits as can be seen on IMDb.com under the stage name Funda Duval.
