I think of myself as a writer as much as a translator.

My greatest success has come in writing the English texts for Italian nature videos, especially for an excellent director called Eugenio Manghi. My script in English got a special mention from the jury at the Beijing Science Film Festival in 2006, for the film "Predatori del Fiume Azzurro", which went on to win the prestigious Golden Dragon award for Best Nature Documentary.

My main scientific specializations are pharmaceutical/biomolecular texts. I have had a contract for the last fifteen years with the Pharmacy and Veterinary faculties at the University of Bari, Italy teaching Scientific English, so I work with these texts every day.

Another part of this job includes working on original texts for publication in scientific journals. In doing so, I have had the great fortune to work with the 1997 Nobel prize winner for Chemistry, John Walker, who now runs the Medical Research Council Laboratory of Molecular Biology in Cambridge, UK, as well as with a series of other less prestigious scientists in the pharmaceutical/biological field.

In addition, another scientist whose Italian team uses my services for helping them to publish in English-speaking journals, Peter Agre, from Baltimore, (a pretty mean soccer player for a Yank and an even better scientist) then won the 2003 Nobel Prize for Chemistry

Other specialisations include software and software localization (see below in Background), but I also run a team translating documentation on hydraulic breakers (Italian into English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, German, Chinese) and anything to do with wine and olive oil (I live in Southern Italy, after all!).

I've been responsible for the localization into English and Portuguese of the documentation for the Cézanne Software suite
