I'm Rebeca and I've always liked English; upon first contact with it as a child, I rapidly
became interested in learning more about it. Soon enough, most of the content I
was consuming was primarily in English, mainly from the US, England,
Australia and Canada.
My curiosity became then an almost complete immersion in the language, discovering its
variations across the planet and seeking to understand accents, slangs and
common sayings that related to the history and culture they derived from.
Many years later came the opportunity of an exchange program in the Walt Disney World,
where I was able to put my fluency into practice while developed new interpersonal
skills. Even though short-lived (about three months), the experience shaped me
in many ways and gave me the confidence that my skills and knowledge are real
and something to be proud of.
Dumbledore once said: "Words are, in my not-so-humble opinion, our
most inexhaustible source of magic.Capable of both inflicting injury, and remedying it" and even
though Harry Potter is a work of fiction, these words seem to be real. With them in
mind is that I applied, hoping to shift my path and work with something close to my
heart as I keep learning from it, once the languages that unify us are also in
constant change, as alive as we are.
