Source text - English IBM ThinkPad: The history of ThinkPad
Did you know the ThinkPad® name was thought up during a coffee
break? According to IBM legend, an IBM researcher took from his pocket
a notepad, which had the word THINK on it, and conceived the idea
of a small, portable tool on which to write, read, work — and
think.
Back in the late 1980s, analysts were forecasting a bright future
for portable computers and predicting that IBM's days were numbered,
given the company's focus on mainframes and enterprise projects.
Little did they realize that IBM would lead the coming technological
advances in the portable market, becoming the company that has
done more than any other to bring new technology to mobile computing.
Translation - Spanish IBM ThinkPad: La historia de la portátil
ThinkPad
