English to Thai: Regulation of chromatin by histone modifications General field: Science Detailed field: Genetics
Source text - English Chromatin is not an inert structure, but rather an instructive DNA scaffold that can respond to external cues to regulate the many uses of DNA. A principle component of chromatin that plays a key role in this regulation is the modification of histones. There is an ever-growing list of these modifications and the complexity of their action is only just beginning to be understood. However, it is clear that histone modification play fundamental roles in most biological process that are involved in the manipulation and expression of DNA. Here, we describe the known histone modifications, define where they are found genomically and discuss some of their functional consequences, concentrating mostly on transcription where the majority of characterization has taken place.

Source text - German Antibiotika
Definition

I started working as a linguist since 1998 when I was in my final year in University, working as a liaison interpreter during the Southeast Asian Games, then as an interpreter for the British Council Education Exhibition in Chiang Mai, Thailand
I settle in the UK in 2002 In the beginning, most of my work was in public and healthcare sectors. In 2006, I returned to Thailand for a year and work as an in-house translator and for a property development company in Hua Hin, Thailand where I handled various types of documents, predominantly legal-related documents: eg. contracts, hire purchases, certificates of registration.
Healthcare science, however, was an area of interest to me, so I returned to study Molecular Genetics at King’s College London, followed by an MSc in Microbiology (pass with Merit) from Birkbeck, University of London. I am familiar with molecular biology techniques.
I had a full-time in-house position as a linguistic quality assurance (LQA) for AlphaCRC, working with a team of 25 languages. My LQA work allows me to gain insight into the up-to-date localization and globalization industry. I worked across a wide range of products, focusing on the final process of localization to ensure a high-quality release to the public. The products with which I have been involved range from websites viewable on various browsers to mobile applications on Android or IOS platforms. I have also worked with various games, concentrating on mobile apps.
I moved to Leeds, north of the UK in Jan 2016 where I briefly worked in a cytology laboratory in a teaching hospital, and then in an emergency department as a Point of Care Testing Assistance. A few years earlier, I also have experience working in a drug testing laboratory and research laboratory. I returned to do translation while waiting to find a permanent role. However, the linguistic path has naturally taken over and now I am a full-time independent linguist.
I also provide an interpreting service. Most of my clients are in the public sector, healthcare sector, social services and courts. I also provide an interpreting service for the business and private sectors. My Voiceover samples can be listening here
My working hour is Mon, Tue, Thur, Fri between 9:00 and 17:30 (UK time)
I am NOT available on Wednesday and may not respond to any communication.
