Source text - English The favorable macroeconomic climate – a low inflation rate (3.1%) and the execution of the State Budget with a surplus (0.5% of GDP) – have played an important role in accelerating GDP growth rates. One sign of the improvement in macroeconomic stability was the lowering of the refinancing rate by the CBU to 16% for the first nine months of 2005 (in average annual terms) vs. 18.8% in 2004 and 27.1% in 2003, which stimulated business activity. Continued implementation of foreign exchange policy aimed at a gradual drop in the nominal rate of UZS against US dollar (9.6%) impacted favorably on the stock of orders of enterprises producing export-oriented products.
