This is very good news!
But I would not say that 10 cent jobs are disappearing, they are still out there! We all know that there are many translation markets, not just one.
It is the 10 cent translators (talking about Germany, USA, and so on...) who are looking for other jobs!

However, as long as you state on your profile page that you are working in a non-profit environment, while also stating that you are, compared to others [sic] (!) useful, how come that you are so outrageously jealous in regard to market rates and keep predicting plenty of doom and gloom to your fellow translators.

Well I don't justify what I write in my profile, as long as it keeps within the website's rules.
As for doom and gloom, they are in the prophetic range. I'm just staying in the range of what is commonly admitted by economists:
1) Distance services are moving to cheaper countries
2) The current crisis is reducing activity
There's nothing wrong in asserting those obvious truths I think.

Moreover, and that's an opinion of mine that I don' find elsewhere, I think there is an anthropological weakness in the fact that everybody can have a computer and a word processor at home.
For instance, you cannot have a court of justice, or an industrial factory, or a national assembly, or a maritime port, in your home. Society is organized so that people earn money in exchange for going everyday to a place which is not their home. And to which not everybody has access.

Awww, my knees are shaking.
Fortunately, there are different markets. And the translation is not my only job. Also, there are markets out there at which the translators offering ridiculously low rates actually get fined or restricted, because it is regarded as unprofessional and disrespectful.
Furthermore, two things that will never disappear are my Skill and Professional competence. These will always find their way through, regardless of what's happening around me or on the market. That said, it is evident that I will survive without their 0.03 jobs, but I am not so sure their translation business will survive without my competence ( in the long run ).
p.s. I hate the Madonna's song. You could also change the tone and pace of your postings, and be more respectful of other colleagues.
