Every time I open up these forums I get this really annoying cat thing. How can I stop it from appearing?

Woof! 🐶
Maybe Tom's cat would veto that.
But Tom could get a woofer. Doesn't need to be walked.
I decided to download the ProZ.com app so that I could get rid of the cat, but the App Store says it’s not available in my country.

Install uBlock Origin 1.51.0. Most probably I have never seen the cat because of this extension.
I have Adblock, and I've never seen the cat (until this thread).
I don't know if those two things are connected.
I have no ad blockers and have never seen the cat. Maybe it depends on your languages.

Yes- I have uBlock but I hadn't selected the option to block popups. Done it now

1. Someone's cat may get jealous when seeing that cat on the screen.
2. Someone's dog may get mad when seeing that cat on the screen.
3. Someone's religious views or idiosyncrasies may dictate a grudge against cats, dogs, or both (I even know of a religious/philosophical opinion leader who taught that if you keep a companion animal, you'll have to stoop down to their level and stop being the "image and likeness", meh).

4. I choose not to be judgmental about those views and idiosyncrasies as long as they're not hypocritical; I had two cats and two dogs and loved them.
5. None of the above is suggesting that Tom in London rejects the cat for any particular reason.
6. I only saw the cat once and didn't mind it.
7. That cat is something I can't explain (this comes from a song just in case: I like seven better than six) ▲ Collapse

Even if a pop-up is blocked, most browsers show a lock or stop icon in the address bar for the blocked link so that the users can open it at their own discretion.

Actually, browsers (Chrome as a minimum) block popups by default, and I can't remember that I suffered because of that behavior. Even if you need popups for a specific site, you can enable them individually for that site.
