: yes, it does say "remplaçant". it also says POLO so where are people getting rugby from? more context would be good

playoff
Generally a "match de barrage" is a "playoff" in English. I haven't found a rugby-specific reference, but that seems to suit your context, since a Round Robin would replace a traditional playoff match.
