budget allocation / budget

Budget/budgetary allocation or, informally, just plain "budget".

A budget allocation is the amount of funding designated to each expenditure line. It designates the maximum amount of funding an organization is willing to spend on a given item or program, and it is a limit that is not to be exceeded by the employee authorized to charge expenses to a particular budget line.

Budget (BrE) appropriation > (AmE) earmark

Appropriation (allocation > set-aside) as opposed to an apportionment (allocation ! > split of earmarked funds).

I speculate that the translation may vary Transatlantically.
Example sentence:

According to the federal Office of Management and Budget, earmarks are funds provided by Congress
