French term
Protection Circulation
French to English
Bus/Financial
Insurance
Car insurance schedule
This term appears on a car insurance schedule, in a list of the various items covered by the policy, such as "conentu du véhicule" and "valeur conventionnelle".
I cannot find anything that explains this term clearly online and obviously translating it as "Traffic protection" is highly unsatisfactory.
All help appreciated as always, many thanks.

accident or collision
"Accident" or "collision" loss/damage occuring while driving.
a common term in the US would be "comp and collision" which means accidents occuring while driving + comprehensive (fire, theft, etc.)
collision, theft, vandalism, personal injury, liability are some of the typical components of cover.

What Are Collision and Comprehensive Insurances?
Collision coverage pays for damage to your own auto that results from colliding with another vehicle or object, or from a vehicle rollover. Your car is covered no matter who causes the accident.
Comprehensive coverage pays for damage to your auto caused by something other than a collision. This includes theft and vandalism, and disasters such as fire, flood and hail.

Comment: "I think this seems about right. The term appears in a list of different parts of the cover, such as accidental damage, glass replacement, vehicle contents, theft etc. I never thought it could be something as obvious this - it's easy to forget how explicit legal documents can be at times.
Thanks very much to both of you for your help.

Motor-related legal protection cover
..appears to be an additional guarantee (along with the standard cover provided in motor policies) which offers legal protection insurance covering, to quote Generali,
« Tout litige lié à l'achat, la vente, la réparation ou l'utilisation d'un véhicule. »

"Protection circulation Tout litige lié à l'achat, la vente, la réparation ou l'utilisation d'un véhicule. "
Seems to be something of a standard definition.

The question can be resolved by George on the basis of whether or not comp and collision are covered elsewhere in the policy.
