I'm not sure if this term is used in all fields, but it certainly is in many, and gets plenty of Googles.
Personally, I'd have expected it to be spelt 'trueing', but I see that 'truing' gets far and away more Googles.

I should add that 'truing' IS indeed used alone (i.e. without the -up), I don't know if that in any way changes the meaning, but I've seen both used in contexts where they certainly appeared to be synonymous, to all intents and purposes
