Hi,
I would like to find out how a "battuta di riscontro" is called in English. Sometimes it is an integrated part of a CNC machine, other times it can be a separate device that can be attached to CNC machines.
You can find one of them at this web site: http://www.volumec.it/battuta_di_riscontro.php
Thanks a lot for you help.

abutment ledge
I think in this case you could use "abutment ledge" or "abutment stop"

Discussion
In the machining field, “back gauge”, “check plate”, “depth stop”, “stop gauge”, or simply “stop” come to mind, the precise term varying according to type of machine and even the manufacturer. Basically, we are talking about a device/mechanism/component for the precise positioning of a workpiece.
For example, by design, bending machines often have a back gauge; the sheet to be bent is fed in horizontally from the front until it abuts against a rear-mounted stop (ergo "back gauge") positioned to ensure that the sheet is in the correct position ready for the bending operation.
