pode ou não

Portuguese to English Art/Literary Linguistics Nouns
ORIGINAL
Com isso considera-se que o nome pode ou não receber a marcação de posse e ser considerado como gramaticalmente aceitável. Abaixo segue uma distribuição de itens lexicais com referência à freqüência de uso da marcação de posse.

TRANSLATION
Bearing this in mind, consider that whether or not the noun receives possessive marking does not relate to its grammatical acceptability. The table below outlines the distribution of lexical elements with reference to frequency of possessive marking use.

>> I think my translation is a bit too wordy or unnecessarily complex. Any ideas for simplication or to make it less bulky? I've been reading this stuff for too long and now it is hard to think in clear terms! :)
