This is just a tropology, they don't have nets either. They kept the victims neitheir in nets, nor in meshes.

: I don't understand your response. I have never been to Iceland. Criminals have nets, not meshes and this IS NOT ENGLISH.

try "meshes" 5,060,000 hits, what I used is genitive case for criminals (who are human beings and this form of genitive is appropriate here) You sit in your Reykjavik and don't have the opportunity to communicate with all native speakers. This IS English.

: "Network" has long been used to describe criminal and terrorist organizations. See http://portal.acm.org/citation.cfm?id=1064834&jmp=cit&coll=G... for an example of usage.

Here "сети" doesn't mean "organization" it means traps, meshes, nets, spiderwebs, not organizations

found in criminal networks
I assume this is from a scholarly article -- if that's the case "сеть" should probably be translated as "network," as in:
"There was a high demand for underage victims, approximately (number) of which were found in criminal networks."
You could also say "had been recruited into."
