peneplains

The prefix “pene-“ is taken from Latin and means “almost”. Technically, a “peneplain” is an area reduced almost to a plain by erosion. If your context refers to higher features (e.g., hills) which have been eroded to ‘colinas’ and ‘semillanos’, I guess ‘peneplain’ could be what you need. If no erosion is involved, I’m not so sure anymore…

According to Eurodicautom, the Italian equivalent of English "peneplain" is "semipiano", which to my mind is very much the same thing as "semillano". This is the good news. The not-so-good news is that the Spanish equivalent provided by the same data base is "penillanura". The choice is yours :)
