Eine 63-jährige Patientin wurde nach einem Krampfanfall am 5. 4.2010 von ihrem Ehemann im Schlafzimmer mit Blickwendung nach links gefunden. Am 6.4. 2010 erfolgte die Aufnahme in der Neurologischen Klinik des Johannes Wesling Klinikums. cCT und MRT-Hirnschädel zeigten eine Raumforderung hoch frontoparietal mit perifokalem Ödem rechts (● Abb.1). Bei der Patientin wurde ca. 1970 ein malignes Melanom von der linken Ellenbeuge exzidiert. Genauere histologische Angaben lagen nicht vor (Melanomtyp, Gesamttumordicke).
Diagnoseblock
Symptomatische fokale Epilepsie mit tonisch-klonischen Anfällen bei Z. n. Resektion einer Metastase rechtsfrontal, arterielle Hypertonie.
Therapie und Verlauf
Am 12. 4.2010 erfolgte eine MR-navigierte Tumorentfernung über eine osteoplastische Kraniotomie rechts frontal. Aus der Histologie bestätigte sich der Verdacht einer Melanommetastase. Die postoperative cCT-Kontrolle zeigte einen regelrechten postoperativen Befund ohne Hinweis auf einen Resttumor (●Abb.2).
Neurologischerseits erfolgte die Einleitung einer antiepileptischen Therapie mit Valproat. In der PET-CT-Untersuchung imponierten 3 metastasenverdächtige Rundherde im rechten Unter- und Oberlappen. Nach der TNM-Klassifikation wurde die Patientin im Stadium pTx N0 M1c, klinisch Stadium IV, eingestuft. Der S100-Wert lag bei 0,09 μg/l. In der interdisziplinären Tumorkonferenz wurde die operative Versorgung der Lungenmetastasen vorgeschlagen (● Abb.3).
Daraufhin erfolgte am 11.5. 2010 die atypische Keilresektion von Unterlappen und Oberlappen rechts. Bei R0-Resektion wurde zu nächst, in der Tumorkonferenz vom 18. 5.2010, das vierteljährliche Staging mittels PET-CT, MRT-Schädel, Lymphknotensonografie und laborchemischer Kontrolle (S100, LDH, alkalische Phosphatase) entschieden. Im Staging vom 2.8. 2010 zeigten sich 2 neue pulmonale Metastasen, 12 Metastasen in beiden Leberlappen bis zu einer Größe von ca. 3cm (● Abb.4) sowie ein Herd mit tumortypisch gesteigerter Glukoseutilisation im Oberbauch rechts (Verdacht auf duodenale Metastasierung). Der S100-Wert stieg auf 0,15μg/l.
Auf eine Kombinationschemotherapie mit Carboplatin/Paclitaxel wurde verzichtet und wegen des hepatischen Stoffwechselweges wurde die Monochemotherapie mit Fotemustin 100 mg/m² der Körperoberfläche (KO) favorisiert. 3 Monate nach Einleitung der Monochemotherapie mit Fotemustin zeigte sich eine partielle Remission mit Rückgang der Lebermetastasen. Bei der Patientin wurde eine Chemotherapie-induzierte Panzytopenie diagnostiziert, die mit Filgrastim, Darbepoetin alfa und teilweise mit Hämotherapie behandelt wurde. Im Zeitraum von 10/2010 bis 6/ 2011 erfolgten insgesamt 13 Gaben Fotemustin. Darunter zeigte sich zunächst eine partielle und nachfolgend (nach PET-CT-Kriterien) eine komplette Remission der Filialisierung (●Abb.5, ●Abb.6).
In der Tumorkonferenz 6/2011 wurde das Absetzen der Monochemotherapie bei kompletter Remission und das engmaschige Staging empfohlen.
Jedoch zeigte sich nach 10 Gaben Fotemustin ein plötzlich einsetzender und rasch progredienter, körperlicher und kognitiver Verfall mit demenziellen Symptomen wie Gedächtnisstörungen und Tremor.
Im August 2011 nach Beendigung der Chemotherapie wurde die Patientin zur Abklärung der neurologischen Symptomatik stationär
aufgenommen. Nach Ausschluss anderer Ursachen wurde der Verdacht auf eine Fotemustin-induzierte Neurotoxizität gestellt. Daraufhin und bei Fortschreiten des kognitiven Verfalls erfolgte die Vorstellung der Patientin in einem spezialisierten Epilepsiezentrum. Die antikonvulsive Therapie wurde von Valproat (Orfiril® ) auf Levetiracetam (Keppra® ) umgesetzt. Innerhalb eines kurzen Zeitraums bildete sich die dementielle Symptomatik komplett zurück. Mehr als 1 ½ Jahre nach Beendigung der Therapie mit Fotemustin befand sich die Patientin noch in Vollremission und gutem Allgemeinzustand mit nebenwirkungsfreier Anti-Epilepsieeinstellung.

On 5 April 2010 a 63 year old patient was found in her bedroom by her husband after a seizure with a leftward gaze deviation. On 6 April 2010 she was admitted to the Clinic for Neurology at Johannes Wesling Klinikum. Her CT- and MRI-cranium showed a space-occupying lesion with perifocal oedema in the high frontoparietal regions of the right cerebral hemisphere . (Fig.1). Around the year 1970, a malignant melanoma was excised from this patient's left elbow. More precise histological details were not available (type of melanoma, overall tumour thickness).
Diagnosis block
Symptomatic focal epilepsy with tonic-clonic seizures, status post metastasis resection (right frontal) , arterial hypertension.
Therapy and progression
On 12 April 2010 an MR-navigated tumour removal was carried out via osteoplastic craniotomy in the right frontal region . Histological findings confirmed the suspected presence of melanoma metastasis. The postoperative CT-scan showed regular postoperative findings without any evidence of residual tumour tissue (Fig.2).
The neurological symptoms were treated via the initiation of an anti-epileptic therapy with valproic acid. The PET-CT-examination impressed with 3 pulmonary nodules (coin lesions) suggestive of metastasis in the right lower and upper lobe. According to the TNM-staging system, the patient was classified with stage pTx N0 M1c, clinical stage IV. The S100-level measured was 0.09 μg/l. At the interdisciplinary tumour conference the surgical treatment of pulmonary metastases was suggested (Fig.3)
Subsequently on 11 May 2010, the patient underwent an atypical wedge resection from the right lower and upper lobes. As part of the R0 resection, it was initially decided at the tumour conference on 18 May 2010 to carry out a quarterly staging via PET-CT, MRI-cranium, lymph node sonography and laboratory chemical examinations (S100, LDH, alkaline phosphatase). The staging from 2 August 2010 showed 2 new pulmonary metastases, 12 metastases in both hepatic lobes of up to 3 cm in size (Fig. 4), as well as a mass in the right upper abdomen with an increased glucose utilization typical of tumours (suspected duodenal metastasis). The S100-level increased to 0.15μg/l.
A combination chemotherapy with carboplatin/paclitaxel was foregone and due to the hepatic metabolic pathway, a mono-chemotherapy with fotemustine at a dose of 100 mg/m² of body surface area (BSA) was favoured. 3 months post-initiation of mono-chemotherapy with fotemustine, a partial remission with regression of liver metastases was observed. The patient was diagnosed with chemotherapy-induced pancytopenia, which was partially treated with filgrastim, darbepoetin alfa and partially by means of hemotherapy. In the period from 10/2010 to 6/2011 a total of 13 administrations of fotemustine were given. Initially this approach led to a partial and subsequently (according to PET-CT-criteria) to a complete remission of the metastases (Fig. 5, Fig.6).
During the tumour conference 6/2011 it was recommended to terminate the mono-chemotherapy at complete remission and carry out a very frequent staging.
However, after 10 administrations of fotemustine the patient presented a sudden and rapidly progressive, physical and cognitive decline with symptoms of dementia, such as impaired memory and tremor.
In August 2011 after completion of the chemotherapy, the patient was hospitalised for clarification of her neurological symptoms. Following the exclusion of other causes, a fotemustine-induced neurotoxicity was suspected. Subsequently and due to the progression of her cognitive decline, the patient was referred to a specialist epilepsy centre. The anticonvulsant therapy was changed from valproic acid (Orfiril®) to levetiracetam (Keppra®). Within a short time frame the neurological symptoms of dementia receded completely. More than 1 ½ years upon completion of the therapy with fotemustine, the patient remained in complete remission and in good general health with no side effects from the anti-epilepsy therapy adjustment.

Figures 10 and 11 show the mould 7 in to which the primal cut of meat is placed. In Figure 10, one half of the mould 7 is shown, and in both figures a chamber 11 is visible in which the meat is held as it is cut. The mould 7 is arranged to hold the meat tightly so that each chop assumes a consistent and appropriate shape, and so that each chop is of a consistent size and weight, thereby assisting packaging, and ensuring uniformity of the end product.

Figure 12 shows some of the detail in the knife region 8, including a knife 12 which rotates in order to cut the meat within the chamber 11 into slices, and in this case into chops.

It will be appreciated that, at the end of a primal cut of meat which is to be sliced, the last chop is unlikely to be of the same thickness as the other chops because its thickness will depend on how much is left after the other chops have been cut. This makes the final chop unacceptable to be included in the pack 3 because it is not consistent with the other chops. Consequently, when the last chop is produced, this must not be included in any of the batches created by the portioning machine 4. The presence of the last chop or end piece of the primal cut of meat is recognised by the position of the piston. If the distance of the piston from the knife 12 is less than the thickness of the acceptable chops, then the end piece has been reached. Consequently, the portioning conveyor 10 will advance by a relatively large distance before the end piece of the primal cut of meat is put on the conveyor 10. However, the previous batch of chops might not have been completed. For example, the previous batch might only contain two pieces of meat, and therefore constitute a partial batch. This partial batch is passed forward by the portioning conveyor to a retractable conveyor 5 which is described below, and the portioning machine must ensure that the next chops which are created by the portioning machine must be a remainder batch in order to make the partial batch up to a full batch. The portioning machine 4 includes a portioning controller 13 which can be seen in Figure 9, and this calculates how many chops need to be present in the remainder batch in order to make the partial batch into a full batch.

The portioning controller 13 is important since it controls the output of the portioning machine 4. Before the portioning machine 4 is used, it must be set with the number of pieces of meat which will make up a full batch, and might also be set to include other characteristics of the meat, such as their thickness and whether or not end pieces of the primal cut of meat may be included. The portioning controller 13 might include registers to hold settings concerning the number of pieces of meat in each batch and the thickness, and whether the end pieces may be included in the batches. Further, the portioning controller 13 electronically labels the slices of meat. The first slice and the last slice of a primal cut are given different electronic labels to the other slices of meat. By labels, these are identifying labels contained within the computer memory, and not labels which are applied directly to the meat. The portioning controller 13 can set up the machine such that slices with a label different to the normal or default one are either swept off the belt by an arm, or are run off the end of the conveyor. The portioning controller 13 must also be capable of counting the number of chops that are sliced from the primal cut so that, when a full batch is produced, the portioning conveyor 10 can be advanced ready for the commencement of the next batch, and also to count the number of slices of meat which are cut up until the presence of an end piece is determined. When a remainder batch is created, the portioning controller 13 ensures that the remaining number of pieces of meat are cut to make the remainder batch such that the remainder batch, when added to the partial batch makes a full batch.

When the next primal cut of meat is placed into the mould 7, the knife 12 begins to operate and to cut chops from the piece of meat again. If the leading edge of the primal cut of meat is not appropriate for creating chops for the pack 3, for example because it is unevenly cut or shaped, then this also will be kept separate from a remainder batch which is cut from the piece of meat immediately thereafter. Thus, the portioning conveyor 10 will hold a series of complete batches of chops from the first piece of meat, it might then have a partial batch from the first primal cut of meat followed by the end piece of the first primal cut of meat, perhaps the leading end chop from a second primal cut of meat followed by a remainder batch to make up the partial batch to a full batch.

Figure 13 shows a retractable conveyor 5 in schematic form so that certain components can be seen, despite normally being positioned within safety housings and casings. The retractable conveyor 5 includes a belt 20 located within a conveyor body 21, which passes over a number of rollers and shafts. In Figure 13, the belt 20 moves in a clockwise direction in order to transport objects from the left hand end to the right hand end. The belt 20 is driven by a motor (not shown), and the part of the path of the belt 20 that travels to the right and is the uppermost part of the belt forms the transport area 23. In Figure 13, the conveyor is shown in its extended position so that the transport area 23 extends most of the way to the right hand end of the machine 5. The transport area 23 is supported so as to be able to withstand the weight of the food items which pass along it, in this case chops. Beneath the transport area towards the right hand end of the belt is a sliding support assembly 24 which can be retracted to the left in order to shorten the length of the transport area 23. When this happens, a large loop of belt 20 is drawn downwardly towards the ground in order to take up the slack and ensure that the belt 20 remains taut The part of the belt 20 which retracts is indicated as the retraction region 25.

Figures 14 and 15 show the effect of the retraction very clearly. In Figure 14, the belt 20 is in the extended position, and it will be seen that, on retraction, not only does the length of the transport area 23 reduce from the right hand end, but a long loop of belt is taken downwardly in order to take up the slack and ensure that the belt remains taut. The retractable conveyor 5 is still able to operate in the retracted position by advancing the belt 20.

When an item is positioned on the transport area 23 of the belt 20 in the retraction region 25, the belt will be retracted very quickly, and the item which was on the belt 20 will drop vertically. By locating a tray or another conveyor beneath the retraction region, the item can be moved from the retractable conveyor 5 to another location. By adjusting the longitudinal position of the item on the belt immediately before it is retracted, accurate control can be had of exactly where the item is placed. Referring again to Figures 5 and 6, it will be seen that the partial batch is accurately positioned within the tray towards one end so that there is room for the remainder batch to be dropped into the tray in exactly the right position offset from the partial batch so as to maintain an even overlap. This is achieved by controlling the position at which each batch is dropped.

The retractable conveyor 5 is arranged to take the chops from the portioning machine 4 and to place them in trays 2. The portioning conveyor 10 is positioned next to the belt 20 of the retractable conveyor 5 so that the chops will be fed to the belt 20 by the portioning conveyor. When a full batch reaches the retraction region 25 of the retractable conveyor 5, it is accurately positioned so that, when the belt 20 is retracted, it will drop into a tray 2 immediately beneath it. However, when a partial batch is supplied to the belt 20, the chops must be positioned in the tray 2 in a position such as is shown in Figure 5 so as to leave room for the remainder batch. When it is a partial batch, it is important for the controller 13 to give the retractable conveyor 5 information concerning the number of chops within the partial batch or within the remainder batch so that the remainder batch can be positioned offset with respect to the partial batch together with the offset distance. It will be appreciated here (that is to say, where a full batch includes four chops) that the partial batch might not be two, but could be one or three. The remainder batch will include enough further chops in order to make up the full batch. The position of the remainder batch in the tray will depend on how many chops are included in the partial batch.

The retractable conveyor 5 includes a sensor 27 arranged to detect the presence of any items on the belt 20. The sensor 27 in this embodiment is an optical sensor in which a beam of light is directed transversely across the belt 20 towards a light detector. The sensor 27, which includes both the source of light and the light detector, are arranged just above the belt so that any item passing along it is detected. Thus, batches, partial batches, remainder batches and off-cuts which are generated by the portioning machine 4 and which are passed to the retractable conveyor 5 can readily be detected.

The retractable conveyor 5 includes a conveyor controller 26 which is not shown in Figures 13, 14 or 15. More details of this controller are given in Figure 16. Since the sensor 27 detects the leading edge of the batch, partial batch or remainder batch passing through the transport area 23, its position on the conveyor is known, and this allows the controller 26 to locate it in the retraction region in such a position that it is dropped in the correct position in a tray or on another conveyor beneath it. The controller 26 is capable of achieving accurate positioning, and when joining partial and remainder batches, is able to ensure that they are positioned together to form a full batch. It will be appreciated that the conveyor controller 26 must receive sufficient information from the portioning controller to allow it to position the partial or remainder batch correctly.

It will also be appreciated that, while the sensor 27 in this instance is an optical system, other sensors are also possible, and this application is not limited to the use of the sensor shown in this embodiment.

Figure 16 is a schematic drawing showing how the portioning machine 4 and retractable conveyor 5 are connected together. The portioning machine is shown to include the knife 12, a knife motor 30 for driving the knife, a belt motor 31 which drives the portioning conveyor 10, both of which are connected to the portioning controller 13. The retractable conveyor 5 is shown to include a belt motor 32 and a retraction motor 33 which drives the retraction of the belt 20. The motors 32 and 33 are controlled by the controller 26. Additionally, the retractable conveyor 5 includes the sensor 27 which detects the presence of items on the transport area 23 of the belt 20. This sensor 27 is used to allow the retractable conveyor 5 to control exactly where an item is located on the belt when it is retracted. This sensor 27 supplies sensing information to the controller 26. A communication link 35 is located between the portioning controller 13 and the conveyor controller 26 so that the portioning controller 13 is able to indicate to the retractable conveyor controller 26 the number of items in the partial batch, and/or the number of items in the remainder batch and the offset that is to be applied.

Figure 17 is a flow diagram showing how the process is carried out, controlled by the portioning controller 13 and the conveyor controller 26. In box 41, the slice count is set to zero, and the meat is loaded into the portioning machine. In box 42, an assessment is made as to whether or not the batch is already full. If it is not full, then the system proceeds to box 43. A question is then asked whether meat is available. If it is available then, in box 44, the meat is sliced to create a chop, and the slice counter is incremented. This is stacked with an overlap on any preceding slice of meat in that batch. If it is the first slice within the batch, then it will be positioned on its own on the portioning conveyor 10. This system then returns to box 42 and follows the same set of questions. If in box 42, the batch is full, because N chops have been cut, the system proceeds to box 45 in which the batch is advanced on the portioning conveyor 10, and the batch counter is reset to zero. N is the number of chops which make up a batch. The system then returns to box 42 to commence a new batch. If during the creation of a batch, the meat becomes unavailable, then this will be picked up in box 43, and the system will advance the partial batch in 46. The end of the primal will be dropped in step 47. In step 48 the belt is advanced to make room for the remaining partial batch. Finally in 49 a request is made for new primal to be loaded.

It will be appreciated from the embodiment described above that the arrangement of the chops will depend on what is required by the customer. In this case, each batch is made up of four chops in an overlapping arrangement within a tray. Other customers might require more or less chops within each tray, and some might prefer the chops to lie side by side in the tray without any overlap at all. Other customers might require each chop to lie on top of the previous one without any overlap at all. The present invention is not limited to delivering items in an overlapping manner, but simply one which is suitable for packaging. What is important is the ability of the system to make partial batches up to full batches. It is expected that this invention has particular application where a batch includes at least three items such that at least one of the partial or remainder batches includes more than one item.

Additionally, this invention is not restricted simply to pork chops, or even to meat products, but can be applied equally well to other items. This invention has particular application to foodstuffs. Other types of sliced meats can be processed besides chops, and meat from other animals can also be processed. Additionally, other types of foodstuffs such as fish can be processed in this way, and the foodstuff might even be frozen. It could even be applied to non-foodstuff applications.

In the embodiment described above, a portioning machine is described. In the case of meat production, this is highly advantageous, but in other embodiments, the portioning machine can be replaced by a suitable source of items to be packed. It does not need to cut individual items from a bulk item in the way described in the embodiment described above, although there are significant advantages in doing so for meats. Additionally, the retractable conveyor used in the preferred embodiment, whilst being highly advantageous in that embodiment is not, in itselt, essential. Any machine which is able to combine a remainder batch and partial batch to make up a full batch would be suitable.

As the reader should appreciate by now, the present invention is applicable to many configurations, not limited by being coupled with a portioning machine. The portioning machine discussed above is simply a detailed example provided to properly explain and disclose the features of the present invention. The portioning machine discussed above should be considered to a one possible front-end of many which can be coupled to the present invention. The following short description of other possible embodiments demonstrates the flexibility of adapting the present invention to a variety of configuration and scenarios.

In one of the preferred embodiments, the front-end of the present invention is an infeed/sorting apparatus receiving as an input hand carved T-Bone steaks from multiple cutters. The best meat is destined to a demanding high-paying customers were the meat quality is judged by plurality of characteristics. An apparatus might pre-select items together based on some criteria or characteristics, for example weight of individual pieces, thickness, or color, or perhaps a combination thereof Lets take for example a scenario were the goal is to select together 6 12 oz T-bone steaks in a package, all having the same shade of red. The shade of red is slightly different from one carcass to another. Therefore, the batching process becomes a bit more complicated. In this scenario it may become necessary to make partial batches which can be completed at a later time, cloaser to the packing area. Clearly the present invention solves the problem of packing the partial batches of this scenario.

In another preferred embodiment, the scenario is a bakery and the front-end of the present invention is conveyor with pastry or rolls with at least one substantially flat surface. The pastry may come in multiple side by side streams and be stacked by the present invention by dropping them into a suitable packages. Whether the pastry is delivered in a single stream or multiple side by side streams is not important. The fact remains, that when some kind of pre-sorting is performed and the portions are in some partially completed stage, the present invention applicable to solve the problem and pack complete batches by combining partial batches.

In another preferred embodiment, the scenario is in a chicken processing plant. 18 The front end is an apparatus which cuts chicken breasts into chicken strips and supplementary part. At one end the apparatus is loaded with whole chicken breasts and returns two products at the other end, the end attaching with the present invention. These products are, well formed chicken fingers 21 which are arranged in groups, and a supplementary product. These two products are interleaved such that every other product is a group of chicken fingers, and the other group is the supplementary product. The supplementary group can, in one embodiment, be removed from the apparatus by the means of a board which reaches across the conveyor and guides or sweeps the supplementary product of before it reaches the input of the present invention. In that way, portions can be easily built up. A problem arises when there is a gap in product delivery, for example if the worker is not quick enough to load the apparatus and the chicken breast is loaded into only one of the two moulds 20 in the loading unit. In those cases the present invention solves the problem quickly by combining partial batches.

In yet another preferred embodiment is the scenario, the scenario is a fish processing plant. The front end in this case fillet skinner and the object to arrange the fillets side by side in a partially overlapping fashion in some appropriate packages. The weights of the batches need to be within some agreed upon limits. In this case a consecutive five fillets may not fit within the weight limit agreed upon with the customer. But, the first three and sixth and seventh fillets fit perfectly. In this case the present invention starts a first batch with the first three fillets, and a second batch with fillets four and five. Next it completes the first batch by adding fillets six and seven to the batch. Depending on the characteristics of the next group of fillets the present invention might either start a third batch or complete the second batch.

Clearly, the present invention is useful in myriad of different applications. N ist die Anzahl der Koteletts, die eine Charge ausmachen. Das System kehrt dann zur Box 42 zurück, um eine neue Charge zu beginnen. Falls während der Erstellung einer Charge kein Fleisch mehr zur Verfügung steht, wird dies in Box 43 aufgegriffen und das System schiebt die Teil-Charge nach 46 vor. Das Ende des erstzerlegten Stücks Fleisch wird im Schritt 47 fallen gelassen. In Schritt 48 wird das Förderband vorgeschoben, um Platz für übrig gebliebene Teil-Chargen zu machen. Zuletzt wird in 49 die Ladung eines neuen erstzerlegten Stücks Fleisch angefordert.

In einer anderen bevorzugten Ausführungsform ist das Szenario eine Hähnchenverarbeitungsanlage. 18. Das Front-End ist eine Vorrichtung, die Hähnchenbrüste in Hähnchenstreifen und zusätzliche Teile einteilt. Die Vorrichtung, der an einem Ende ganze Hähnchenbrüste zugeführt werden, die von ihr mittels der vorliegenden Erfindung verarbeitet werden, gibt am anderen Ende zwei Produkte aus. Bei diesen Produkten handelt es sich um wohlgeformte Hähnchenstreifen 21, die in Gruppen und einem Zusatzprodukt angeordnet werden. Diese zwei Produkte sind so sehr ineinander verschachtelt, dass es sich bei jedem anderen Produkt um eine Gruppe an Hähnchenstreifen und eine andere Gruppe des Zusatzprodukts handelt. Die Zusatzproduktgruppe kann in einer Ausführungsform von der Vorrichtung mittels eines Bretts entfernt werden, das sich über den Förderer hinweg erstreckt und das Zusatzprodukt weglenkt bzw. wegfegt bevor es die Eingabe der vorliegenden Erfindung erreicht hat. Auf diese Weise können die Portionen auf einfache Art und Weise erzeugt werden. Problematisch wird es dann, wenn es zu einer Lücke im Rahmen der Produktlieferung kommt. Dies findet beispielsweise statt, wenn ein Arbeiter bei der Ladung der Vorrichtung nicht schnell genug vorgeht und die Hähnchenbrüste in nur eine der zwei Formen 20 der Ladeeinheit geladen werden. In diesen Fällen löst die vorliegende Erfindung das Problem schnell über die Kombination von Teil-Chargen.

In einer weiteren bevorzugten Ausführungsform ist das Szenario eine Fischverarbeitungsstätte. In diesem Fall ist das Front-End eine Fischfilet-Enthäutungsmaschine und das Ziel besteht darin, die Filets Seite an Seite mit entsprechenden Teilüberlappungen zu verpacken. Die Gewichte der Chargen müssen sich innerhalb einigen vorher vereinbarten Grenzen bewegen. In diesem Fall könnte es sein, dass fünf hintereinander liegende Filets sich nicht innerhalb den mit dem Kunden vorher vereinbarten Grenzen bewegen. Die ersten drei und das sechste und das siebte Filet passen jedoch hervorragend hinein. In diesem Fall startet die vorliegende Erfindung eine erste Charge mit den ersten drei Filets und eine zweite Charge mit den Filets vier und fünf. Als nächstes vervollständigt die erste Charge über die Hinzufügung der Filets sechs und sieben zu der Charge. Je nach den Eigenschaften der nächsten Gruppe an Filets könnte die vorliegende Erfindung entweder eine dritte Charge beginnen oder die zweite Charge fertigstellen.

General Safety
• Read the manual to install, operate, and repair the machine safely.
• Obey all safety labels.
• Obey all warnings to prevent an injury to personnel.

Personnel Safety

5.1 Prepare the Area
The space requirements can be different on each machine. Use your machine dimensions when you prepare for the installation.

Concrete Floor Requirements
This machine transmits the forces that occur during the wrap cycle safely into the foundation. This gives a protection to the machine and the structure of the building.
Requirements:
• A concrete floor thickness of 152 mm (6”).
o Recommend rebar reinforced concrete.
• A flat and level floor
o If the floor is not flat, install the shims below the leg base plate and the outriggers.
• Compressive Strength 21 MPa (3000-PSI).
• No cracks, joints in the floor within 254 mm (10”) of the anchors.

5.5 Installation
Step 1:
Put a mark on the floor for the centerlines of the machine, the conveyors and the first 2 anchor positions.
The correct position for the anchors:
• At the opposite ends of the machine, at the corner of the leg base plates.
• The dimensions between the anchors is 4356 mm (171 1/2"). Refer to the floor plan for the layout.
Note: The correct position for the 2 anchors is important. Use them as a reference point to complete the installation of the anchors.
Step 2:
Set the first 2 anchors
WARNING:
Use only the anchors from Lantech to install the machine. Other anchors can cause a hazardous condition, injury to personnel.
Refer to the instructions for the Expansion Anchors below if you install the machine in a cold, freezer environment.
Adhesive Anchors
1. Drill holes in the concrete for the first 2 anchors.
Dimensions:

• 127 mm (5”) depth
2. Use the bottle brush, vacuum and compressed air to clean the holes.
3. Use a plug to increase the strength to the bottom if:
a. The depth of the hole is more than 5 1/4” (133mm).
b. The concrete breaks through the bottom of the hole.
The hole must have a solid bottom to hold the adhesive while it sets.
Note: The adhesive does not bond to the concrete if there is debris in the holes.
4. Put the adhesive cartridge into the anchor hole.
5. Put 2 nuts, with a washer between them, together at the top of the anchor.
6. Use a drill, impact wrench with a 15/16” socket, and put the anchor into the adhesive cartridge.
7. Put the anchor through the cartridge to the depth band on the stud to mix the adhesive.
8. Let the adhesive cure before you move to the next step. Refer to the “Cure Time” chart for the time requirements for the adhesive to cure.
9. Do not remove the nuts until the adhesive cures.
Expansion Anchors (Cold/Freezer Environment)
1. Drill the holes in the concrete for the first 2 anchors.
Dimensions:
• 18 mm (11/16”) diameter
• 102 mm (4”) depth
2. Use the bottle brush, vacuum and compressed air to clean the holes.
3. Put the anchor sleeves into the holes.
Step 3:
Install the legs
1. Refer to the floor plan for the correct flow direction and position for the machine.
2. Align the letters on the legs with the letters on the top frame.
Examine the leg at the base plate. If it includes a cap, put the grout in through the weep holes in Step 11.
3. Clear a 5 m x 15 m (15’ x 45”) area to set up the top frame and legs.
4. Set the top frame on blocks in the middle of the area. Use caution to prevent damage to the conduits, cables, air hoses, and grease lines on the bottom of the top frame.
5. Put each leg in position, to point out.
6. Align the top 2 holes on the leg with the top 2 holes in the top frame.
7. Install 2 M12 x 60 bolts in the top hole with the clamp bars and M12 washers on each leg.
8. Do not apply the Loctite or tighten the bolts at this time.
These bolts are pivot points for the legs when you raise the top frame.
9. Loosen the rotation drive belt. This lets you turn the saddle when you install the wrap arm.

Step 4:
Lift the Top Frame
1. Attach a lift strap, chain to the 4 eyebolts on the top frame.
2. Use caution when you lift the legs. They can pivot freely.
3. Slowly lift the top frame and let the legs move across the floor and below the top frame.
4. Raise the top frame until the legs pivot below the machine.
Step 5:
Set the machine in position
1. Move the machine into position over the 2 bolts installed in step 2.
2. Slowly lower the machine until 1 bolt is through the hole in the base plate.
3. Install a nut and washer onto the bolt. Do not tighten.
4. Lower the machine and move the other leg until the bolt aligns with the hole in the base plate.
5. Lower the machine to the floor and install the second nut and washer to the anchor. Do not tighten.
6. Do not remove the lift strap, chain from the machine or forklift.

Complete the installation of the leg.
1. With the machine in position, start the bolts on the legs and gussets.
Do not apply the Loctite.
2. Tighten by hand:
a. The (6) M12 x 40 mm bolts on the gussets below the top frame for each leg.
b. The (8) M12 x 60 mm bolts with clamp plates and M12 washers on the sides of each leg.
Do not tighten the bolts until the legs are level.
Step 7:
Complete the installation of the anchors (Adhesive and Expansion).
1. Install the remainder of the anchor bolts.
2. Use the leg base plates as a template and drill the holes.
3. Refer to Step 2.
4. Let the adhesive cure and continue with Step 8.

Step 8:
Level the legs
Use a laser level or transit to make sure that the elevation of the legs are equal.
1. Attach a magnet to the leg below the top frame at the leg gussets.
2. Attach a plumb line to extend to the floor.
3. Measure the distance from the leg to the string:
a. At the top of the leg, and
b. At the bottom of the leg.
4. Make sure that the distance is equal.
5. If the distance is not equal, install shims.
a. Put the shims below the base plates.
b. Measure at 4 points (90° intervals) around the leg.
c. Install the shims until the machine is level.
d. Add the shims below the base plate at the anchors.
Make sure that you fill the gaps at the anchors to hold the leg level.
e. Do these steps again for the second leg.

Install the shims at the top frame.
1. Put the shims between the top frame and leg gussets at the bolts to fill the gaps.
2. Remove each bolt and apply Loctite to the threads of the bolt only. Tighten the bolts by hand.
3. Remove each side bolt. Apply Loctite to the threads of the bolt and to the female threads on the leg. Tighten the bolts by hand.
4. Tighten the bolts by the leg.
5. Start with the bolts nearest the leg and torque to 102 N-m (75 lb/ft).
Refer to the illustration and tighten the bolts in sequence.
a. Torque the bolts to 34 N-m (25 lb/ft).
b. Torque the bolts to 68 N-m (50 lb/ft).
c. Torque the bolts to 102 N-m (75 lb/ft).
Step 11:
Apply the grout to the leg base plate.
1. Use the caulk to seal the gaps between the base plate and the floor around the base plates. Complete this step on each leg.
2. Let the caulk dry (2 – 3 hours) before you continue with this step.
3. Refer to the manufacturer directions and mix the grout.
4. Remove the eyebolt at the top of each leg.
5. Use a funnel and put the grout into the hole at the top of each leg. The grout fills the gaps below the leg base plates. Each base plate has 2 weep holes.
If the legs include the caps at the base plate, put the grout in through the weep holes.
6. Make sure that you can see the grout in each hole.
7. Let the grout cure. Refer to the data below.

Note: If the machine is in a cold environment:
• Prepare the grout in a different area.
• Cold temperatures extend the time for the grout to cure.

Do not use the grout if the temperature is less than 25F (-4C).
Step 12
Attach the Wrap Arm
1. Tighten the 8 bolts on the wrap arm to 34 N-m (25 lb-ft).
Each bolt has a black line on the threads. Use the line to make sure that the bolt does not turn when you tighten the nuts.
2. Attach a lift strap to the wrap arm and to the forklift and lift the wrap arm into position.
a. Use the labels on the wrap arm and saddle to align the wrap arm.
b. Align the bolts with the wrap arm saddle.
c. Put the flat washers on the bolts.
d. Apply 2-3 drops of the Loctite on the bottom 2-3 threads near the flat washer.
e. Thread the nut onto the bolt until it connects with the flat washer.
f. Tighten by hand to remove the gap between the saddle and the wrap arm.
g. Use a torque wrench to tighten the nuts on the inner bolts from the top side of the top frame.
h. Torque to 102 N-m (75 lb/ft).
i. Use the18 mm wrench to tighten the nuts on the outer bolts approximately 75-90° of the wrench turn. This removes the gap between the saddle and the wrap arm. This is equal to 102 N-m (75 lb/ft).
j. If a bolt turns when you tighten the nut, loosen the nut and torque the bolt to 34 N-m (25 lb-ft). Tighten the nut.

3. Attach the quick connect plug from the slip ring to the receptacle in the wrap arm.
4. Remove the FDS shipping bracket. Refer to the safety label on the FDS.
Step 13:
Install the Wrap Zone Conveyor
Refer to the floor plan to put the wrap zone conveyor into position.
1. Use the conveyor centerline for the correct position.
Do not anchor the wrap zone conveyor to the floor until you install the automation unit.
2. Manually move the wrap arm and make sure that there is a clearance above the conveyor.
The correct clearance is a minimum of 13 mm (½”) above the highest point on the conveyor.

If your machine does not include the wrap zone conveyor, install the Freestanding Automation Unit.
If the machine includes the wrap zone conveyor, the Automation Unit attaches to the conveyor.
The position of the Automation Unit is important for the machine to operate correctly.
Note: Figure 5.18 shows the standard flow unit.
1. Refer to the floor plan and set the automation unit in position.
2. Adjust the height of the unit to the conveyor pass height.
3. Install the shims below the leg base plates if it is not level.
4. Manually move the wrap arm to the automation unit to make sure that the clearance for the rotation is correct.
Step 15 - Adjust the tension on the drive belt
1. Use a tension gauge to measure the tension on the drive belt.
2. Refer to figures 5.19 and 5.20 to adjust the tension.
3. Tighten the nut on the tensioning screw until the correct tension is set.
4. Tighten the bolts on the drive assembly.
5. Examine and adjust the tension after the first 100 cycles.

Step 16 - Install the Main Enclosure
CAUTION
Do not open the enclosure door until the enclosure is anchored to the floor. The enclosure is unstable and can fall if the door is open.
1. Refer to the floor plan for the correct location of the enclosure.
Some floor plans include a requirement to put the safety fence in position before the enclosure. Do not attach the fence to the floor.
2. Attach a lift strap to the eyebolts on the top of the main enclosure.
Use caution when you use the forklifts and other equipment. Use guarding to prevent damage to the enclosure.
3. Lift the enclosure slowly. Do not damage the cables and connectors on the bottom of the enclosure.
4. Move the enclosure into position.
5. Use the anchors to attach the enclosure to the floor.

Before you apply the air pressure for the first time, turn the supply regulator on the FRL down. This prevents the sudden movement of some devices.
When you apply the air pressure, increase the pressure slowly to 6 Bar (80 PSI).
Leg Mount Safety Gates – Standard Speed machines
1. Install the 3 supply lines to the automation unit.
2. Install the supply lines to the gate and to the automation unit.
3. Use the labels for the correct connections.

Standard Machine:
1. Attach the quick connects.
Refer to the labels on the cables, receptacles and components.
Align the labels and complete the connections.
2. Attach the quick connect from the slip ring on the top frame to the receptacle in the wrap arm.
3. Make sure that the key to the access gate engages the gate switch. The switch is on the fence.
4. Connect the main power supply to the top of the “Main Disconnect” in the enclosure. Refer to the electrical drawings for service requirements.
Hardwired Machine:
1. If the machine is hardwired, individual wires replace the quick connect plugs (except the slip ring).
Connect the wires to the terminals:
• At the main enclosure
• At the opposite side safety gate junction box
• At the conveyor junction boxes.
2. Refer to the electrical drawings.
Step 21:
Complete the Conveyor Wiring (If Applicable)
Standard Machine
The conveyor motors and the staging photoelectric sensors have quick connectors.
The cables are “pre-wired” to the enclosure.
Thread the cables to the motor or photoelectric sensors and connect to the receptacle.
“Hardwired” Machine
The conveyors are “pre-wired” with conduit and junction boxes, or wired to a junction box on the conveyor.
If the conveyors are pre-wired, the conduits are attached and the wiring terminated in the junction boxes. If the conveyors are not pre-wired, wire the conveyors from the main enclosure to the junction box on the conveyor.
6.0 Operator Instructions
Functions, descriptions and data can be different on your case erector. Refer to Section 3 Options.
NOTE: It is important to know all components. This includes the modes of operation and how to thread the film.

6.1 Sequence of Operation
6.1.1 Standard Speed
The sequence of operation starts with the machine in the “Auto” mode and a load on the infeed conveyor.
1. The safety gate raises and the load moves into the wrap zone.
2. The load moves out of the site of the transition photoelectric sensor and the infeed safety gate lowers.
3. The “Undertravel” and “Overtravel” photoelectric sensors adjust the load in the center of the wrap zone.
4. The wrap arm starts to turn and the film clamp extends to the side of the load.
5. After the first rotation, the clamp bladders deflate to release the film tail.
6. The wrap arm moves around the load.
7. The FDS raises and applies the film to the load. The speed of the wrap arm increases until it hits the maximum rpm.
8. The Pallet Grip engages and applies the preset number of bottom wraps to the load.
9. The FDS raises to the top of the load and applies the preset number of top wraps.
10. The FDS lowers to the bottom of the load.
11. On the last rotation the film clamp retracts.
12. The speed of the wrap arm decreases to the “Homing” speed
13. The wrap arm stops at the “Home” position
14. The safety gate on the exit conveyor raises.
15. The Film Cutter raises.
16. The Wipe Down assembly moves into position to wipe the film to the load.
17. The Film Plow pushes the film into the clamp and the bladder inflates to hold the film.
18. The Cutter Wire energizes for approximately 2.5 seconds to break the film.
The heat of the hot wire melts and separates the film.
19. The load moves to the exit conveyor.
20. The wipe down loops connect with the load to wipe the film tail to the load.
21. The wipe down retracts and the cutter assembly moves to the “lowered” position.
22. The machine can accept the next load.
6.1.2 High Speed
1. The machine receives a signal that a load can move to the infeed conveyor.
2. The machine sends a signal to the upstream system to release the load.
3. The conveyor engages and the load moves to the infeed conveyor photoelectric sensor.
4. The load stays at the sensor until the wrap arm completes the last rotation of the current wrap cycle.
5. The clamp retracts and the wrap arm speed decreases to “homing” speed and stops at the home position.
6. The film cutter raises and the wipe down assembly extends to the load.
7. The Film Plow pushes the film into the clamp and the bladder inflates to hold the film.
8. The Cutter Wire energizes for 1 – 4 seconds to break the film.
The heat of the hot wire melts and separates the film.
9. The load on the wrap zone conveyor and the load on the infeed conveyor start to move.
10. The film cutter lowers.
11. The “Undertravel” and “Overtravel” photoelectric sensors in the wrap zone align the load in the correct position.
12. The wrap arm starts to turn and the film clamp extends to the side of the load.
13. After the first rotation, the clamp bladders deflate to release the film tail.
14. The wrap arm moves around the load.

The FDS moves up and down the wrap arm to pre-stretch and apply the film.
Pallet Grip®
The Pallet Grip locks the load to the pallet.
As the FDS lowers, the pallet grip engages and makes the "cable" of film. This cable attaches approximately 38 mm (1 ½”) below the top of the pallet to lock the load.
Pallet Grip® engages when the FDS applies the bottom wraps to the load.
6. Automation Unit
• Load Seeking Clamp® (Vacuum Film Clamp)
o The Load Seeking Clamp eliminates the film tail at the beginning of the wrap cycle.
o It lets the film wrap near the side of the load during the wrap cycle.
o The vacuum clamp pivots to extend to the side of the load as it wraps.
• Cutter Wire
• Wipe Down loops
7. Safety Gates (Standard Speed)
The gates are on the legs and protect the infeed and exit areas of the wrap zone. The gates include a pneumatic barrier and photoelectric sensor to scan the transition areas of the wrap zone.
8. Safety Fence with Access Gate
The safety fence is a guard for the perimeter of the wrap zone. It includes an access gate with an electrically interlocked gate switch.
The control power to the machine disengages when the access gate is open.
Light Curtains (High Speed)
The Light Curtains are a guard for the infeed and exit conveyor areas for the high speed systems.
9. Conveyors
The standard conveyor is:
• 1321 mm (52”) Effective Width
• Powered Roller Conveyor
• Weight capacity 1814 kg (4000 lbs)
6.3 Controls
The control console is in a remote operator station.
The standard HMI is a “touch screen”.
The controls include:
“Main Disconnect” – This is a lockable switch that starts and stops the main power supply.
“HMI”
“MCR Reset” (//) – This is a blue illuminated button. This button controls the power to the machine. When the switch illuminates, the control power is on.
“Power Off” (O) – This is a red button that stops the operation of the machine. This button stops the wrapper system only.
“Emergency Stop” (E-stop) – This is a red button that stops the operation of the machine.
Use the E-stop for emergencies only.
Push the button to disconnect the power to the machine.
Reset the button to engage the power.
A second Emergency Stop is on the opposite side of the machine for personnel safety.
“Illuminated Gate Unlock Button – This is also the “Cycle Stop Request. This button is adjacent to the access gate. Use this button to request entry into the wrap zone. This function is available only when the machine is not in operation.
If the machine is idle:
1. Push the button.
2. The power to the machine disengages and the pneumatic system releases the air.
3. When the button illuminates, push the button again to enter the wrap zone.
If the machine is in operation when the operator pushes the button, the machine completes the current wrap cycle. The button flashes until the cycle is complete.

6.4 Display
The HMI shows the machine status, fault conditions, and instructions.
The list below includes the standard data that can show on the HMI:
“Manual Mode” – Manual functions of the components are available.
“Automatic Mode” – Push the start button and the loads move continuously through the cycle.
“Fault Condition” – These conditions stop the operation of the machine. The operator must correct the fault and start the machine. The display shows the fault and the location of the fault.
“Light Curtain Fault and Recovery” (High Speed)
If there is a Light Curtain fault:
1. Push the “Help” button. The “Lockout Recovery” button shows on the screen.
2. Push the “Lockout Recovery” button and the “Light Curtain Reset” menu shows on the screen.
3. Push the “Light Curtain Reset” button to stop to the power to the Light Curtains for 5 seconds. This resets the Light Curtains.
4. Reset the Light Curtains (Light Curtain Reset button - //) on each assembly
5. Start the machine.
6.5 Operator Controls
6.5.1 Main Menu
When the power is on, the Main Menu shows on the display.
“Login” – Gives access to the “Setup” menu.
Each operator must use the current time on the touch screen (hours and minutes – 1:45 p.m. = 1345) as the password for this menu.
“Help” – Gives access to the “Help” menu. This helps the operator find and correct the fault and alarm conditions.
“Alarm Reset” – Use this to clear the alarm condition and start the machine. This button shows on the display only when an alarm occurs.
“Alarm Silence” – Stops the alarm. This button shows on the display only when an alarm occurs.
“Bypass Next Load” – The next load moves through the cycle but does not wrap.
Note: This is a single load function.
“Start” - Push the “Start” button and hold for 3 seconds to initialize the automatic function.
“Cycle Stop” – Safely stops the machine at the end of the current wrap cycle.
“Monitor” – This button gives access to the “Monitor” menu.
“Wrap Setup” - This button gives access to the “Setup” menus.
“Load Tracking” – Gives access to the menu
“Manual” – This puts the machine in the Manual Mode. It is available when the machine stops in the “Auto” mode.

6.5.2 Screen Saver
This menu shows after 1 minute of no activity on the main menu, and 5 minutes on all other menus.
Touch the “Main Menu” area on the screen to get access to the screen saver.
It shows the current data on the machine operation.
The data includes:
• Payout Percentage
• Current Profile
• Revolutions for the last load
• Number of loads before the next film roll change
• The number of film breaks for the current period
Push the “Setup” button to change the data selections.
Screen Setup
Use this menu to make the selection of data to show on the screen. The data available for display can be 5 lines.
Use the Up/Down arrows to:
1. Make the selection of the line number.
2. Make the selection of the data line
3. Push the “Select” button.
Push the “Restore Defaults” button to set the default data selections.
6.5.3 Setup (Login)
You can get access to this screen from the Main Menu.
Each operator must use their password for this menu.
Caution:
Make sure that only qualified personnel use this menu and the related menus.
This gives access to the functions below:
“Options” – Engages, disengages the configurable options.
“Security Setup” – Shows the levels of security and the user access menus.
“Shift Setup” – Shows the menu to set the shift times.
“Email Setup” – Shows the email menu to report machine faults and downtime.
“MPS Manual Control” – Shows the “Metered Pre-stretch” Manual Control menu for RS2 (Pre-stretch roller) feedback.
“Auto Tune” – Calibrate the Rotation, MPS and FDS motors.
“Initialize PLC Data” – Use this menu to initialize the PLC.
“Clear History” – Erases the current list of faults and alarms from the “Alarm History” menu.
“Runout Enable/Disable” – Use this mode for setup and to adjust the wrap sequence.
“Repeat Enable/Disable” – Lets the operator put the machine in a “Repeat” mode. This is only available in the “Runout” mode.
“Film Break Enable/Disable” – This lets a load move through the cycle without the film (dry cycle). This is only available in the “Runout” mode.
6.5.4 Performance Data
You can get access to this screen from the Main Menu.
This menu gives access to the options below:
“Production Chart” – This screen shows a graph of the data in the list below:
“Loads Wrapped” – The number of loads through the wrap cycle each day.
“Loads Bypassed” – The number of loads bypassed each day.
“Film Breaks at Clamp” – The number of film breaks in the first revolution of the wrap cycle each day.
“Film Breaks at Load” – The number of film breaks after the first revolution of the wrap cycle each day.
“Stops”- Operator” – The number of machine stops by the operator.
“Stops - Faults” – The number of times during the shift the machine stops because of a fault condition.
“Downtime Minutes” – This is the time that the machine is not in Automatic Mode. .
“Blocked Minutes” – This is the time that the machine cannot move the loads downstream.
“Starved Minutes” – This is the time that the machine does not receive the loads from upstream.
“Loads per Hour” – The number of loads through the wrap cycle each hour for the last day.
“Film Breaks per Hour” – The number of film breaks each hour.
“Loads per Film Roll” – The number of loads through the wrap cycle on each of the last 30 film rolls.
“Low Film Enable” – This engages, disengages the recording of film usage per film roll.
“Clear LPR Data” – This erases the data from the graph.
“Wrap Data” – Use this menu to set the values for the containment.
“Girth Last Load” – Measures the girth of the load and makes an entry of the data.
“Film Counter Value” – Makes an entry of the value from the counter on the FDS.
“Min Containment Force” (CF) - This function shows the data below:
• Containment Force standard
• Film Weight
• Payout Percentage
• Number of Revolutions
“Load Containment Profile” – Shows the film layers put on the load and the containment location.
“CF Standard Setup” – Sets the minimum Containment Force for each profile.
“Wrap Data Setup” – Use this screen to make the entry for the:
• Girth
• Film Counter Value
• Measured Containment Force
• Film weight.
This menu includes the “Save and Exit”, and “Close Window” buttons.
“Film Weights” - This screen shows a bar graph for the calculated weight of the last 30 measured loads.
It shows the min, max, and average.
“Minimum Containment” – This screen shows a bar graph for the Minimum Containment Force for the last 30 measured loads.
It shows the min, max, and average.
“Monitor Menu” – This menu gives the operator access to the machine data menus.
“Alarm History” – This screen shows the history of faults and alarms. It includes the data on the last 512 faults and alarms and the time of the fault.
Use the “Page Up/Down” buttons to move through the list.
“Alarm List” – This screen shows the number of incidents of the faults and alarms.
“Cycle Data” – Gives access to current data that includes:
• Cycle counters
• Cycle times
• Throughput
• Revolutions
• Payout Percentage
You cannot reset the “Total Machine Cycles” counter.
The “Last Back to Back Cycle Time” and the “Throughput Capacity” displays update when the machine wraps “back to back” loads.
“Speed Monitor” – shows a graph of the speed of devices and drives. The colors align with the motors. Use the selection buttons to show the speed trends.
“Interface Status” – shows the current status between the machine and the upstream and downstream systems.
“Digital I/O Status” – shows the current status for all inputs and outputs.
Use the “Next/Previous Module” buttons to move between all digital Input and Output modules.
“Encoder Status” – shows the data from each encoder.
The counters include:
• “MPS S1 Roller Encoder Current Count”
• “MPS RS2 Roller Encoder Current Count”
The Current Count on each refers to the rotation of the encoder.
The Current Rate refers to the speed of the encoder.
“System Info” – shows the PLC and HMI data.
This shows the current scan time for the PLC and the data for the PLC and HMI.
This menu lets the operator set the Date and Time and set up the HMI.
6.5.5 Scheduled Maintenance
A note shows on the Main Menu and illuminates on the “Scheduled Maintenance” menu when the maintenance is due.
“Monthly Operator Checks” 30 days 50,000 cycles
“Quarterly Operator Checks” 90 days 100,000 cycles
“Semi-Annual Operator Checks” 180 days 200,000 cycles
“Annual Operator Checks” 365 days 500,000 cycles
“Biennial Operator Checks” 720 days 1,000,000 cycles
“Daily Operator Checks” - A daily list for the operator shows on the display on a 24 hour cycle. This tells the operator to complete the checks.
“View Details” – Shows the maintenance schedule for each area.
“View Activity Details” – Shows the tasks in the maintenance schedule.
“Perform Activities Now” – This sets the maintenance tasks to show as “due”. You must have a level 2 password to get access to this menu.
“Mark Activity Complete” – This lets personnel record that the maintenance is complete. This resets the time and cycle counter. You must have a Level 2 password to get access to this menu.
6.5.6 “Wrap Setup”
You can get access to this from the Main Menu. Use this to make a copy of, change the settings.
1. Push the “Up/Down” buttons and make your selection.
2. Push “Select”.
You can change the settings during the wrap cycle.
Use the “20 Film” or “30 Film” buttons for the film width.
These buttons show only if the machine has a 30” FDS.
6.5.7 “Profile Copy”
Use this menu to make a copy of the settings and add a second profile. Use the Up/Down button.
1. Make the selection of the source profile.
2. Make the selection of the second profile.
3. Push the “Copy” button.
6.5.8 “Payout Calculator”
This menu calculates the quantity of film that was applied to the last load.
To calculate:
1. Push the “Last Load Girth” button and make an entry of the girth of the load.
2. The “Calculated Payout Percentage” data shows on the display below the buttons.
6.5.9 “Edit Presets”
Use this menu to adjust the settings for all wrap profiles. Push the “Preset” button and make an entry of the value on the screen.
“Film Width” – The Width of the film as it is applied to the load. The range is 254 – 762 mm (10”- 30”).
“Load Center Count” – This is the distance between the transition sensor and the center of the wrap zone. This measures in increments of 1/100 of a second. (Range: 20-200).
“Hot Wire Pulse Time” – The time, in seconds, that the Cutter Wire energizes. (Range: 2.00-5.00 sec.)
“Forklift Clear Delay” – The time in seconds that the “Forklift Detection” sensor must be clear before the machine receives the next load. (Range: 5.00-15.00 sec.)
“Wipe Payout Percentage” - The film payout percentage when the Wipe Arm extends. (Range: 80-120%)
6.5.10 “Edit Profile”
Use this menu to change the settings.
Push the “Up/Down” button and make the selection.
Make the entry of the correct value.
Use the “Rename Profile” button to change the name of a wrap profile.
The settings include:
“Top Overwrap” – This is the quantity of film overwrap on the top of the load.
“Top Wraps” – This is the number of film revolutions on the top of the load.
“Bottom Wraps” – This is the number of film revolutions on the bottom of the load.
“Overlap Up” – The quantity of film overlap on the last revolution as the FDS moves up.
“Overlap Down”. – The quantity of film overlap on the last revolution as the FDS moves to the bottom of the load.
“Pallet Girth” – This is the outer dimensions of the pallet.
“Load Girth” – This is the outer dimensions of the load.
“Rotation Speed” – The speed of the wrap arm rotation. This measures the speed as a percentage of the maximum rotation speed.
“Pallet Payout”. – The quantity of film that is applied to the load when the FDS is in the down position.
“Load Payout”. – The quantity of film that is applied to the load when the FDS is not in the down position. (When the FDS moves Up, Down).
“Variable Load” – Use this function when the girth is the same for the height of each load. The girth can change from load to load.
“Variable Layers” – Use this function when the girth of the load is different for the height of each load. The girth can change from load to load.
6.5.11 “Load Tracking”
You can get access to this menu from the Main Menu.
The screen shows the conveyors and the load that is on each conveyor.
Push the conveyor section and make an entry of the value.
Note: If you do not make a selection of a profile, the system uses the current selection.
Note: A value of “99” indicates the load will be bypassed through the system without wrapping.
The “Conveyor Controls” button gives access to the manual controls menu for the conveyor system.
6.5.12 Manual Controls
Rotation
“Jog Forward” – Turns the wrap arm in the forward (standard) direction.
“Jog Home” – Turns the wrap arm to the home position at low (Home) speed.
“Jog Reverse” – This turns the wrap arm in the opposite direction at low (Home) speed.
“Speed %” – This button lets the operator set the speed for the wrap arm.
“Current Speed (rpm) Monitor” – This shows the current speed of the wrap arm.
FDS
“Jog Up” – Moves the FDS in the up direction.
“Jog Down” – Moves the FDS in the down direction.
“Speed %” – This button lets the operator set the travel speed of the FDS.
“Current Position” – This shows the distance, in inches, from the full down position.
Film Clamp
“Extend” – Extends the film clamp from the “retract” position to the load.
“Retract/Open” – Retracts the film clamp from the load and deflates the clamp bladders for 5 seconds.
Hot Wire
“Pulse” – This “pulses” the hot wire on the film cutter.
This function can also clean the debris from the wire.
Cutter Assembly
“Raise” – This raises the cutter assembly.
Push and hold the button or push it 2 times to extend the Wipe Down loops.
“Lower” – This lowers the cutter assembly.
Push and hold the button or push it 2 times to retract the Wipe Down loops. The display shows the current position and the “retract” time.
Use the pneumatic flow control to adjust the time.
Conveyor Controls Menu
“Select All” – Touch this selection to include all conveyor sections.
“Clear Selection” – This erases all selections of conveyor sections.
“Conveyor Section Select” – Touch the conveyor section on the menu to make the selection. Touch a second time to erase the selection.
“Forward” – Changes the travel direction of the conveyors to the standard flow direction.
“Reverse” – Changes the travel direction of the conveyors to the opposite of the standard flow direction.
This is a manual function and is only available when the conveyors are in the manual mode.
In Automatic mode, the machine automatically changes to the forward direction.
“Raise Gates” – Raises the infeed and exit safety gates. The gates must be in the up position before the wrap zone, first infeed or exit conveyors can operate.
“Lower Gates” – Lowers the infeed and exit safety gates.
“Jog” – Manually operates the conveyor sections.
6.6 Initialize the System
6.6.1 How To Stop The System
Standard Shutdown
If there is a load available at the infeed:
1. Push the “Cycle Stop” button or push the illuminated “Gate Entry” button.
If you push the “Gate Entry” button, the button flashes until the machine stops.
The machine completes the current stage of the wrap cycle and stops at the “Home” position.
Note: There are 3 “stages” of the cycle:
• Load Infeed
• Wrap Load
• Load Exit
2. Push the “E-stop”.
3. Turn the Disconnect switch to the “Off” position.
It is safe to complete the maintenance, repairs.
If there is not a load available or the machine is not in operation:
1. Push the “E-stop”.
2. Turn the Disconnect switch to the “Off” position.
Emergency Shutdown - Use only in an emergency condition.
Push the “E-stop”.
This immediately stops the operation of the machine.
The standard system has 2 E-stops. There is 1 in the operator controls and 1 on the safety fence on the opposite side of the machine. Refer to the floor plan.
6.6.2 How to Start the System
The standard system has 2 modes of operation:
• Manual
• Automatic
Before you make the selection, apply the power and initialize the machine.
To initialize the machine:
1. Turn the “Main Disconnect” to the “On” position.
2. Apply the air pressure and adjust to 80 PSI (6 Bar).
3. Close the Access Gate.
4. Reset the Emergency Stops.
5. Push the “MCR Reset” button (//).
The “MCR Reset” button illuminates and the Main Menu shows on the display.
After an Emergency stop, the cycle can continue from the point where the shutdown occurred, if:
• The operator did not push the “Cancel Cycle” button.
• The machine is not in a “Film Break Recovery”.
• The machine is not in Manual Mode which moves the load.
If these conditions occur, the machine moves to the home position and cancels the wrap cycle.
If the machine stops during the cycle because of an Emergency Stop, the “Bypass Next Load” button changes to “Cancel Current Cycle”.
Push the “Cancel Current Cycle” button to cancel the wrap cycle. Start the machine and the components go to the home position and a new wrap cycle starts.
6.7 Operate the System
6.7.1 Manual Mode
To engage the Manual Mode:
1. Set all Emergency stops.
2. Push the “MCR Reset” button (//). The button illuminates.
3. The “MCR Reset” alarm sounds
4. The Main Menu shows on the display.
5. The machine is in the Manual Mode and all manual functions are available to the operator.
6.7.2 Auto Mode
To engage the Automatic Mode:
1. Set all emergency stops.
2. Push the “MCR Reset” button (//). The button illuminates.
3. The Main Menu shows on the display.
4. Push and hold the “Start” button for 3 seconds to start the automatic wrap sequence.
5. The components that are not in the home position automatically move to the home position.
• The Film Cutter lowers
• The wrap arm moves to the home position
• The FDS lowers
• The Film Clamp retracts
6. When all components move to the home positions, push and hold the “Start” button for 3 seconds. This engages the automatic wrap sequence.
7. The machine is set to accept a load.
WARNING
Obey all safety label instructions and warnings. The machine can start automatically when the Auto and Bypass modes engage.
6.7.3 “Wrap Bypass”
There are 2 wrap bypass functions - “Single load bypass” and “Continuous load bypass”.
“Single load bypass”
Before the load on the infeed conveyor starts to move into the wrap zone:
• Push the “Bypass Next Load” button. This moves the next load through the cycle but does not wrap the load.
This is for 1 load only. The next load wraps by the standard profile.
“Continuous load bypass”
This function moves all loads through the wrap zone but does not wrap the loads. This continues until you change the profile.
1. Push the “Wrap Setup” button on the Main Menu.
2. Toggle down and push “Wrap Bypass”.
If the machine is not in Automatic Mode:
1. Go to the Main Menu.
2. Push and hold the “Start” button for 3 seconds to start the Automatic Mode.
3. All components go to the home position.
4. Push and hold the “Start” button for 3 seconds to start the Wrap Bypass.
• The machine bypasses all loads until you change the wrap profile.
WARNING!
Obey all safety label instructions and warnings. The machine can start automatically in the Automatic mode.
6.8 Load the Film

Film Loading Procedures
The standard film roll measures 254 mm (10”) in diameter and 508 mm (20”) width.
If the machine has a 762 mm (30”) FDS, you can use the film that is 762 mm (30”) width.
Thread the film:
1. Put the machine in “Manual” mode.
2. Make sure that all components are in the home position.
3. Push the “E-stop” button.
4. Open the Access Gate.
5. Put a film roll on the film post of the FDS. The “tacky” side of the film points to the load.
6. Examine the film roll for defects, holes.
7. Open the EZ Thread gate.
• Release the latch and pull the gate handle.
8. Refer to the diagram and thread the film around the pivoting roller.
9. Pull the film through the FDS. Make sure that the quantity of film is sufficient to attach to the film clamp after you close the gate.
10. Close the gate.
11. Keep the film slack to make sure that it does not break.
12. Pull the film around the last idler roller and attach the film to the vacuum film clamp.
13. Cut the film if the film tail measures more than 152 mm (6”) from the clamp.
14. Close the access gate.
15. Start the machine.
6.8.1 Film Roll Depletion/Film Break Recovery
If the film breaks, if the film roll is empty, a cycle for “Film Break Recovery” automatically starts.
The components go to the home position.
1. Push the “E-stop” button.
2. Open the Access gate.
3. Replace the film roll.
4. Correct the film break condition.
5. Thread the film.
6. Start the machine.
7.0 Maintenance
WARNING!
Obey the Lockout/Tagout Procedures.
7.1 Daily and Weekly Maintenance
• Tighten, replace loose fasteners.
• Look for oil leaks around the speed reducers.
• Look for air leaks.
• Make sure that the pneumatic supply and pressure settings are correct.
• Look for, drain the water in the air supply filter.
• Listen for unusual noise during operation.
• Clean the Cutter Wire. Use the “Pulse” function on the control console to clean the wire.
• Align the tension on the Nichrome wire. Adjust, replace the wire.
Note: The cutter wire does not touch the film when it cuts.

• Examine, fill the pneumatic lubricator.
7.1.1 Pallet Grip
• Remove the debris from in and around the Pallet Grip®.
• Make sure that the pivoting roller moves freely and retracts fully.
• Examine the film guide roller and make sure that it turns freely.
• Make sure that the film moves over the groove in the film guide roller as the load wraps.
7.2 Monthly Maintenance
• Examine the FDS belt for wear.
• Examine the wrap arm drive belt for correct tension and wear.
• Examine the pre-stretch chains and sprockets for wear.
• Examine the conveyor chain for wear.
• Lubricate the chains with SAE 30 oil.
• Examine, adjust the clevis connections on the air cylinder
7.3 Bi-Annual Maintenance
Note: We recommend that personnel wear a dust mask for this step.
• Remove the cover of the electrical slip ring in the top frame. Use clean, dry, compressed air to remove the debris.
CAUTION
Do not use a solution to clean the slip ring. The ring self-lubricates and solutions can cause damage to the component.
• Examine, torque the bolts on the leg and the anchors. Refer to Torque Reference Chart in section 5.
• Lubricate the wrap arm ring bearing with 6 m; (0.2 oz) of grease (approximately 4 pumps of a standard grease gun). The grease fitting is on the pneumatic assembly
Turn the ring bearing when you lubricate it.
• Examine, lubricate the bearings on the clamp.
• Refer to section 3 - Options for other lubrication requirements.

5.0 Installation
Lesen Sie den Abschnitt Aufstellung und Installation aufmerksam durch und führen Sie die Schritte in der angegebenen Reihenfolge durch.

5.1 Vorbereitung des Aufstellungsorts
Der Platzbedarf ist je nach Maschine unterschiedlich. Achten Sie bei der Vorbereitung auf die spezifischen Abmessungen Ihrer Maschine.

Spezifische Anforderungen an Betonboden
Die Maschine weiten die beim Wickeln entstehenden Kräfte sicher an das Fundament weiter. Dadurch werden die Maschine und die Gebäudestruktur geschützt.
Anforderungen:
• Ein Betonboden mit einer Dicke von 152 mm (6 Zoll).
o Es wird ein mit Stahl verstärkter Beton empfohlen.
• Ein flacher und ebener Boden
o Falls der Boden nicht flach ist, installieren Sie die Ausgleichsbleche unterhalb der Standbeingrundplatte und den Abstützungen.
• Druckfestigkeit 21 MPa (3000-PSI).
• Keine Risse oder Fugen im Boden innerhalb eines Durchmessers von 254 mm (10 Zoll) rund um die Verankerungen.

5.5 Installation
Schritt 1:
Markieren Sie auf dem Boden die Mittellinien der Maschine, die Förderanlagen und die ersten 2 Ankerpositionen.
Die richtige Position der Anker:
• An den entgegengesetzten Enden der Maschine in den Ecken der Standbeingrundplatten.
• Die Abmessungen zwischen den Ankern betragen 4356 mm (171 1/2 Zoll). Siehe Lageplan für die Bodenaufteilung
Bitte beachten: Die richtige Position der 2 Anker ist von großer Bedeutung. Verwenden Sie sie als Bezugspunkt, um die Installation der Anker fertigzustellen.
Schritt 2:
Setzen Sie die ersten 2 Anker
WARNUNG:
Verwenden Sie zur Aufstellung der Maschine ausschließlich die von Lantech gelieferten Anker. Der Einsatz anderer Anker kann zu Gefahrensituationen oder Verletzungen führen.
Beachten Sie bitte die untenstehenden Gebrauchsanweisungen für Expansionsanker bei der Installation der Maschine bei kalten Umgebungstemperaturen oder Umgebungstemperaturen unter dem Gefrierpunkt.
Klebeanker
1. Bohren Sie für die ersten 2 Anker Löcher in den Beton.
Abmessungen:
• 18 mm (11/16 Zoll) Durchmesser
• 127 mm (5 Zoll) Tiefe
2. Setzen Sie die Flaschenbürste, Vakuum und Druckluft ein, um die Löcher zu reinigen.
3. Verwenden Sie einen Stöpsel, um die Intensität nach unten zu stärken falls:
a. Das Loch mehr als 133 mm (5 ¼ Zoll) tief ist.
b. Der Beton durch den Boden des Lochs durchbricht.
Das Loch muss einen festen Grund haben, damit das Klebemittel vor dem Aushärten nicht ausrinnt.
Bitte beachten: Das Klebemittel stellt keine Verbindung zum Beton her, wenn Bohrmehl oder andere Verunreinigungen vorhanden sind.
4. Führen Sie die Patrone mit Klebemittel in das Ankerloch ein.
5. Positionieren Sie 2 Muttern mit einer Trennscheibe dazwischen oben auf den Anker.
6. Führen Sie den Anker mithilfe eines Drehschlagschraubers mit einem 15/16 Zoll Steckschlüssel in die Klebemittelpatrone ein.
7. Setzen Sie den Anker durch die Patrone bis zur Tiefenmarkierung an der Schraube ein, um das Klebemittel zu mischen.
8. Lassen Sie das Klebemittel aushärten, bevor Sie fortfahren. Die erforderliche Aushärtezeit für das Klebemittel ist in der „Aushärtezeit“-Tabelle angegeben.
9. Entfernen Sie die Muttern erst nach der Aushärtung des Klebemittels.
Expansionsanker (Kalte Umgebungstemperatur/Umgebungstemperatur unter dem Gefrierpunkt)
1. Bohren Sie für die ersten 2 Anker Löcher in den Beton.
Abmessungen:
• 18 mm (11/16 Zoll) Durchmesser
• 102 mm (4 Zoll) Tiefe
2. Setzen Sie die Flaschenbürste, Vakuum und Druckluft ein, um die Löcher zu reinigen.
3. Setzen Sie die Ankerhülsen in die Löcher ein.
Schritt 3:
Montieren Sie die Standbeine
1. Lageplan für die Bodenaufteilung für die richtige Flussrichtung und Position für die Maschine.
2. Richten Sie die Beschriftung auf den Standbeinen in dieselbe Richtung wie die Beschriftung auf dem Oberrahmen aus.
Untersuchen Sie das Standbein an der Grundplatte. Schütten Sie falls diese einen Deckel umfasst, den Mörtel durch die Abflusslöcher in Schritt 11.
3. Räumen Sie eine 5 m x 15 m (15 Fuß x 45 Fuß) große Fläche, um den Oberrahmen, und die Standbeine aufzubauen.
4. Bauen Sie den Oberrahmen auf Blöcken im Mittelpunkt der Fläche auf. Seien Sie vorsichtig, um Schäden an Leitungen, Kabeln, Luftschläuchen und Schmierleitungen an der Unterseite des Oberrahmens zu vermeiden.
5. Positionieren Sie die Standbeine so, dass sie nach außen gerichtet sind.
6. Legen Sie die 2 oberen Löcher des Standbeins über die 2 oberen Löcher des Oberrahmens
7. Installieren Sie an jedem Bein 2 M12 x 60 Schrauben in das obere Loch mithilfe von Klemmbalken und M12 Zwischencheiben.
8. Tragen Sie Loctite nicht auf und ziehen Sie die Schrauben diesmal nicht fest.
Diese Schrauben dienen den Standbeinen als Drehachsen wenn Sie den Oberrahmen anheben.
9. Lockern Sie den Rotationsantriebsriemen Dies ermöglicht es Ihnen den Sattel zu drehen wenn Sie den Wickelarm installieren.

Schritt 4:
Heben Sie den Oberrahmen an.
1. Befestigen Sie einen Heberiemen und eine Kette an die 4 Transportösen auf dem Oberrahmen.
2. Heben Sie die Standbeine vorsichtig hoch. Sie lassen sich problemlos hin- und herschwingen.
3. Heben Sie den Oberrahmen langsam hoch und erlauben Sie es den Standbeinen sich entlang des Bodens und unterhalb des Oberrahmens zu bewegen.
4. Heben Sie den Oberrahmen an bis die Standbeine unterhalb der Maschine zum hineingedreht werden.
Schritt 5:
Bringen Sie die Maschine in Position.
1. Bewegen Sie Maschine über die in Schritt 2 installierten 2 Schrauben in Position.
2. Senken Sie die Maschine langsam herab bis 1 Schraube durch das Loch in der Grundplatte hineingedrungen ist.
3. Befestigen Sie eine Mutter und eine Zwischenscheibe an die Schraube. Ziehen Sie sie nicht fest.
4. Senken Sie die Maschine herab und bewegen Sie das andere Standbein solange bis die Schrauben über den Löchern in der Grundplatte liegen.
5. Senken Sie die Maschine auf den Boden herab und befestigen Sie die zweite Mutter und Zwischenscheibe an den Anker. Ziehen Sie sie nicht fest.
6. Entfernen Sie weder den Heberiemen noch die Kette von der Maschine oder dem Gabelstapler.

Beenden Sie die Installation des Standbeins.
1. Starten Sie mit den Schrauben an den Standbeinen und Eckblechen, nachdem die Maschine in Stellung gebracht wurde.
Tragen Sie kein Loctite auf.
2. Ziehen Sie sie von Hand auf:
a. Die (6) M12 x 40 mm Schrauben an den Eckblechen unter dem Oberrahmen für jedes Standbein.
b. Die (8) M12 x 60 mm Schrauben mit Klemmplatten und M12 Zwischenscheiben an den Seiten jedes Standbeins.
Ziehen Sie die Schrauben nicht fest bis die Standbeine nivelliert sind.
Schritt 7:
Beenden Sie die Installation des Ankers (Klebe- und Expansionsanker).
1. Installieren Sie übriggebliebenen Ankerschrauben.
2. Verwenden Sie die Standbeingrundplatten als Vorlage und bohren Sie die Löcher.
3. Siehe Schritt 2.
4. Lassen Sie das Klebemittel aushärten und beginnen Sie mit Schritt 8.

Schritt 8:
Nivellieren Sie die Standbeine
Verwenden Sie ein Nivellier- oder Lasernivelliergerät, um sicherzustellen, dass die Standbeine auf gleicher Höhe liegen.
1. Befestigen Sie ein Magnet am Standbein unter dem Oberrahmen an den Eckblechen des Standbeins.
2. Bringen Sie eine Lotschnur an, die bis zum Boden reicht.
3. Messen Sie den Abstand zwischen dem Standbein und der Schnur:
a. Am oberen Ende des Standbeins und
b. Am unteren Ende des Standbeins.
4. Vergewissern Sie sich, dass die Abstände gleich lang sind.
5. Installieren Sie Ausgleichsbleche falls die Abstände nicht gleich lang sind.
a. Bringen Sie die Ausgleichsbleche unter die Grundplatten an.
b. Messen Sie an 4 Punkten (90° Intervalle) um das Standbein herum.
c. Installieren Sie die Ausgleichsbleche bis die Maschine nivelliert ist.
d. Fügen Sie die Ausgleichsbleche unter der Grundplatte an den Ankern hinzu.
Vergewissern Sie sich, dass Sie die Lücken an den Ankern ausfüllen, die das Standbein in seiner Position halten.
e. Wiederholen Sie diese Schritte für das zweite Standbein.
Schritt 9
Ziehen Sie die Schrauben fest.
Klebeschrauben
Ziehen Sie die Schrauben auf 102 N-m (75 Pfund/Fuß) an.
Expansionsschrauben.
Ziehen Sie die Schrauben auf 81 N-m (60 Pfund/Fuß) an.

Schritt 10
Installieren Sie die Ausgleichsbleche am Oberrahmen
1. Bringen Sie die Ausgleichsbleche zwischen dem Oberrahmen und den Eckblechen an den Schrauben an, um die Lücken füllen.
2. Entfernen Sie jede Schraube und tragen Sie Loctite nur auf das Gewinde der Schraube auf. Ziehen Sie die Schrauben von Hand an.
3. Entfernen Sie alle Seitenschrauben. Tragen Sie Loctite auf die Gewinde der Schrauben und die Innengewinde am Standbein auf. Ziehen Sie die Schrauben von Hand an.
4. Ziehen Sie die Schrauben am Standbein an.
5. Beginnen Sie mit der Schraube in der Nähe des Standbeins und ziehen Sie sie auf 102 N-m (75 Pfund/Fuß) fest.
Betrachten Sie die Abbildung und ziehen Sie die Schrauben in der dort abgebildeten Reihenfolge an.
a. Ziehen Sie die Schrauben auf 34 N-m (75 Pfund/Fuß) an.
b. Ziehen Sie die Schrauben auf 68 N (45 Pfund/Fuß) an.
c. Ziehen Sie die Schrauben auf 102 N (45 Pfund/Fuß) an.
Schritt 11:
Tragen Sie den Mörtel an der Standbeingrundplatte auf.
1. Verwenden Sie ein Abdichtmittel, um die Lücken zwischen der Grundplatte und dem Boden um die Grundplatten herum abzudichten. Führen Sie diesen Schritt an jedem Standbein durch.
2. Lassen Sie das Abdichtmittel trocknen (2 – 3 Stunden) bevor Sie mit diesem Schritt weitermachen.
3. Befolgen Sie die Anweisungen des Herstellers und mischen Sie den Mörtel.
4. Entfernen Sie die Transportösen am oberen Ende jedes Standbeins.
5. Verwenden Sie einen Trichter und legen Sie den Mörtel in das Loch am Ende jedes Standbeins. Der Mörtel füllt die Lücken unter den Standbeingrundplatten. Jede Grundplatte verfügt über 2 Abflusslöcher.
Schütten Sie den Mörtel durch die Abflusslöcher, falls die Standbeine die Deckel an der Grundplatte umfassen.
6. Vergewissern Sie sich, dass Sie den Mörtel in jedem Loch sehen können.
7. Lassen Sie den Mörtel aushärten. Siehe nachstehende Daten.

Bitte beachten: Falls sich die Maschine in einer kalten Umgebung befindet:
• Bereiten Sie den Mörtel in einer anderen Umgebung vor.
• Kalte Temperaturen verlängern die Aushärtezeit des Mörtels.
• Wenn der Mörtel bei 25F (-4C) verwendet wird, beträgt die Aushärtezeit 16 bis 24 Stunden.
Verwenden Sie den Mörtel nicht bei Temperaturen unter 25F (-4C).
Schritt 12
Bringen Sie den Wickelarm an
1. Ziehen Sie die 8 Schrauben am Wickelarm auf 34 N-m (25 Pfund-Fuß) an.
Jede Schraube verfügt über eine schwarze Linie am Gewinde. Verwenden Sie die Linie um sicherzustellen, dass die Schraube sich nicht dreht wenn Sie die Muttern festziehen.
2. Befestigen Sie ein Heberiemen am Wickelarm und an den Gabelstapler und heben Sie den Wickelarm in die richtige Position.
a. Verwenden Sie die Etiketten am Wickelarm und am Sattel, um den Wickelarm auszurichten.
b. Befestigen Sie die Schraube am Wickelarmsattel.
c. Legen Sie die flachen Scheiben auf die Schrauben.
d. Tragen Sie 2-3 Tropfen Loctite auf die unteren 2-3 Gewinde in der Nähe der flachen Scheibe auf.
e. Schrauben Sie die Mutter auf die Schraube bis sie mit der Beilagscheibe in Berührung kommt.
f. Ziehen Sie sie von Hand an und entfernen Sie die Lücke zwischen dem Sattel und dem Wickelarm.
g. Verwenden Sie den Drehmomentschlüssel um die Muttern an den Innenschrauben von der oberen Seite des Oberrahmens aus anzuziehen.
h. Ziehen Sie sie auf 102 N-m (75 Pfund-Fuß) an.
i. Verwenden Sie den 18 mm Drehmomentschlüssel, um die Muttern an den Außenschrauben um ungefähr 75-90° der Schlüsseldrehung anzuziehen. Dadurch wird die Lücke zwischen dem Sattel und dem Wickelarm entfernt. Dies entspricht 102 N (75 Pfund/Fuß).
j. Falls eine Schraube sich beim Festziehen der Mutter dreht, sollten Sie die Mutter lockern und die Schraube auf 34 N-m (25 Pfund/Fuß) anziehen. Ziehen Sie die Schraubenmutter fest.

3. Stecken Sie den Schnellanschlussstecker vom Schleifring in die Steckdose des Wickelarms.
4. Entfernen Sie die FDS-Versandhalterungen. Siehe Sicherheitsetikett des FDS.
Schritt 13:
Installieren Sie die Wickelzonenförderanlage
Beachten Sie den Lageplan, um die Wickelzonenförderanlage in Stellung zu bringen.
1. Verwenden Sie die Mittellinie der Förderanlage, um die richtige Position zu bestimmen.
Warten Sie mit der Verankerung der Wickelzonenförderanlage in den Boden bis Sie die Automatisierungseinheit installiert haben.
2. Bewegen Sie den Wickelarm von Hand und stellen Sie sicher, dass sich über der Fördereinheit genügend Raum befindet.
Die erforderliche Höhe beträgt mindestens 13 mm (½ Zoll) über dem höchsten Punkt der Fördereinheit.
Schritt 14 - Installieren Sie die Automatisierungseinheit

Installieren Sie die freistehende Automatisierungseinheit falls Ihre Maschine keine Wickelzonenförderanlage umfasst.
Falls die Maschine eine Wickelzonenförderanlage umfasst, wird die Automatisierungseinheit am Förderband angebracht.
Die Position der Automatisierungseinheit ist für den sachgemäßen Betrieb der Maschine von Bedeutung.
Bitte beachten: Abbildung 5.18 zeigt eine standardmäßige Durchflusseinheit.
1. Beachten Sie den Lageplan und bringen Sie die Automatisierungseinheit in Stellung.
2. Passen Sie die Höhe der Einheit der Förderpasshöhe an.
3. Installieren Sie die Ausgleichsbleche unter den Standbeingrundplatten falls Sie nicht nivelliert ist.
4. Bewegen Sie den Wickelarm manuell zur Automatisierungseinheit, um sicherzustellen, dass der erforderliche Rotationsfreiraum eingehalten wird.
Schritt 15 - Stellen Sie die Spannung des Antriebsriemens ein
1. Verwenden Sie ein Messgerät, um die Spannung des Antiebriemens zu messen.
2. Berücksichtigen Sie die Daten aus den Schritten 5.19 und 5.20, um die Spannung einzustellen.
3. Ziehen Sie die Mutter an der Spannschraube fest bis die erforderliche Spannung eingestellt ist.
4. Ziehen Sie die Schrauben am Antrieb an.
5. Überprüfen und stellen Sie die Spannung nach den ersten 100 Zyklen erneut ein.

Schritt 16 - Installieren Sie den Schaltschrank
VORSICHT
Öffnen Sie den Schaltschrank erst, wenn er fest am Boden verankert ist. Der Schaltschrank ist nicht stabil und kann herunterfallen, falls die Tür offen bleibt.
1. Genaueres zur sachgemäßen Positionierung des Schaltschranks entnehmen Sie dem Lageplan.
Gemäß einigen Lageplänen ist es erforderlich einen Sicherheitszaun vor dem Schaltschrank aufzustellen. Befestigen Sie den Zaun nicht am Boden.
2. Bringen Sie einen Heberiemen durch die Transportösen auf dem Schaltschrank an.
Seien Sie bei der Verwendung von Gabelstaplern und anderen Ausrüstungen vorsichtig. Verwenden Sie Schutzvorrichtungen, um Schäden am Schaltschrank zu vermeiden.
3. Heben Sie den Schaltschrank langsam an. Beschädigen Sie keine Kabel und Verbindungen an der Unterseite des Schaltschranks.
4. Bringen Sie den Schaltschrank an seine Position.
5. Verwenden Sie Verankerungen, um den Schaltschrank am Boden festzumachen.
Schritt 17
Siehe Abschnitt 3. Installieren Sie die Optionen.

Schritt 18:
Installieren Sie den Zaun

2. Bringen Sie die Zaunabschnitte in Position und bringen Sie sie am Boden an.
Schritt 19:
Befestigen Sie die Luftschläuche und Schmierleitungen
VORSICHT
Drehen Sie den Druckluftregler am FRL zu, bevor Sie zum ersten Mal Druckluft in das System einleiten. Dadurch wird eine plötzliche Bewegung einiger Geräte verhindert.
Erhöhen Sie den Druck beim Einleiten der Druckluft auf 6 Bar (80 PSI).
Sicherheitstüren des Standbeinträgers - Standard Geschwindigkeitsmaschinen
1. Bringen Sie die 3 Versorgungslinien an der Automatisierungseinheit an.
2. Bringen Sie die Versorgungslinien an der Tür und der Automatisierungseinheit an.
3. Verwenden Sie die Etiketten, um die richtigen Verbindungen herzustellen.

Schritt 20:
Stellen Sie die elektrischen Verbindungen her
Standardmäßige Maschine:
1. Fügen Sie die Schnellanschlüsse hinzu.
Siehe Etiketten an Kabeln, Steckdosen und Bestandteilen.
Richten Sie die Etiketten aus und stellen Sie die Verbindungen her.
2. Stecken Sie den Schnellanschlussstecker vom Schleifring auf dem Oberrahmen in die Steckdose des Wickelarms.
3. Vergewissern Sie sich, dass der Schlüssel zur Zugangstür den Türschalter aktiviert. Der Schalter befindet sich auf dem Zaun.
4. Verbinden Sie die Hauptstromversorgung mit dem oberen Haupttrennschalter des Schaltkastens. Siehe elektrische Zeichnungen für Serviceanforderungen.
Festverdrahtete Maschine:
1. Falls die Maschine festverdrahtet ist, ersetzen individuelle Verdrahtungen die Schnellanschlussstecker (mit Ausnahme des Schleifrings)
Schließen Sie die Drähte an den Klemmen an.
• Am Schaltschrank
• Am entgegengesetzten Ende der Schutztüranschlussdose.
• An den Förderanlagenanschlussdosen.
2. Beachten Sie die Schaltpläne.
Schritt 21:
Bauen Sie die Verdrahtung der Förderanlage ein (sofern vorhanden)
Standardmäßige Maschine
Der Förderanlagenantrieb und die bereitstehenden Fotozellen verfügen über Schnellanschlüsse.
Die Kabel sind mit dem Schaltschrank „vorverdrahtet“.
Führen Sie die Kabel zum Motor oder den Fotozellen und verbinden Sie sie mit der Steckdose.
„Festverdrahtete“ Maschine
Die Förderanlagen sind mit Leitungen und Anschlussdosen „vorverdrahtet“ oder mit einer Anschlussdose an der Förderanlage verdrahtet.
Falls die Förderanlagen vorverdrahtet sind, wurden die Leitungen angebracht und die Verdrahtung bereits zur Anschlussdose geführt. Falls die Förderanlagen nicht vorverdrahtet sind, müssen Sie die Förderanlagen vom Schaltschrank zur Anschlussdose an der Förderanlage miteinander verdrahten.
6.0 Bedienungsanleitung
Es ist möglich, dass die einzelnen Funktionen, die Beschreibung und die Daten sich von Ihrem Kartonaufrichter unterscheiden. Genaueres entnehmen Sie Abschnitt 3, Optionen.
HINWEIS: Es ist wichtig, alle Komponenten zu kennen. Dies schließt die Betriebsarten und das Einlegen der Folie ein.

6.1 Arbeitsablauf der Maschine
6.1.1 Standardgeschwindigkeit
Die Reihenfolge der Inbetriebnahme startet mit der Maschine im Auto-Modus und einer Ladung an der Einlaufförderanlage.
1. Das Sicherheitstor erhebt sich und die Ladung wird in die Wickelzone hinein befördert.
2. Die Ladung bewegt sich aus dem Bereich der Fotozelle und die Einlauf-Sicherheitstür senkt sich.
3. Die „über- und unterfahrenden“ Fotozellen positionieren die Ladung in das Zentrum der Wickelzone.
4. Der Wickelarm beginnt sich zu drehen und der Folienspanner dehnt sich zur Seite der Ladung.
5. Nach der ersten Rotation entleert sich die Folien-Spannvorrichtungsblase, um den Folienstrang freizugeben.
6. Der Wickelarm bewegt sich um die Ladung herum.
7. Das FDS erhebt sich und legt die Folie an die Ladung an. Die Geschwindigkeit des Wickelarms erhöht sich bis sie die maximale Anzahl an U/Min erreicht.
8. Der Palletengriff kommt zum Einsatz und führt eine voreingestellte Anzahl an unteren Wicklungen an der Ladung durch.
9. Das FDS erhebt sich zum oberen Teil der Ladung und und führt eine voreingestellte Anzahl an oberen Wicklungen durch.
10. Das FDS senkt sich zum unteren Teil der Ladung hinab.
11. Bei der letzten Rotation zieht sich der Folienspanner zurück.
12. Die Geschwindigkeit des Wickelarms verringert sich bis die Ausgangsposition erreicht ist.
13. Der Wickelarm stoppt an der Ausgangsposition automatisch.
14. Die Sicherheitstür an der Ausgabe-Förderanlage erhebt sich.
15. Das Folienschneidegerät erhebt sich.
16. Die Folienabwischvorrichtung bewegt sich in die Position, in der sie die Folie der Ladung abwischen kann.
17. Der Folienschieber schiebt die Folie zur Klemme hin und die Blase füllt sich auf, um die Folie zur festzuhalten.
18. Der Schneidedraht lädt sich für ungefähr 2,5 Sekunden mit Energie auf, um die Folie zu durchschneiden.
Die Hitze des heißen Drahtes lässt die Folie schmelzen und trennt sie ab.
19. Die Ladung wird zur Ausgabe-Förderanlage weiterbefördert.
20. Die Folienabwischschleifen stellen eine Verbindung zur Ladung her, um die Folie der Ladung abwischen zu können.
21. Die Folienabwischvorrichtung zieht sich zurück und die Schneidevorrichtung bewegt sich in eine „abgesenkte“ Position.
22. Die Maschine kann die nächste Ladung annehmen.
6.1.2 Hochgeschwindigkeit
1. Die Maschine erhält ein Signal darüber, dass eine Ladung in die Einlauf-Förderanlage befördert werden kann.
2. Die Maschine sendet ein Signal an das vorgeschaltete System, um die Ladung loszulassen.
3. Die Förderanlage wird in Bewegung gesetzt und die Ladung wird zur Fotozelle der Einlauf-Förderanlage befördert.
4. Die Ladung bleibt an der Fotozelle stehen bis der Wickelarm die letzte Rotation des gegenwärtigen Wickelzyklus vollzogen hat.
5. Der Folienspanner zieht sich zurück und die Wickelarmgeschwindigkeit verringert sich bis die Ausgangsposition erreicht ist und bleibt in der Ausgangsposition stehen.
6. Die Folienschneide- und Folienabwischvorrichtung bewegt sich auf die Ladung zu.
7. Der Folienschieber schiebt die Folie in den Folienspanner und die Blase füllt sich auf, um die Folie zur festzuhalten.
8. Der Schneidedraht lädt sich für 1 – 4 Sekunden mit Energie auf, um die Folie zu durchschneiden.
Die Hitze des heißen Drahtes lässt die Folie schmelzen und trennt sie ab.
9. Die Ladung der Wickelzoneförderanlage und die Ladung der Einlauf-Förderanlage fangen an sich zu bewegen.
10. Das Folienschneidegerät senkt sich.
11. Die „über- und unterfahrenen“ Fotozellen in der Wickelzone bewegen die Ladung in die richtige Position.
12. Der Wickelarm beginnt sich zu drehen und der Folienspanner dehnt sich zur Seite der Ladung.
13. Nach der ersten Rotation entleert sich die Folien-Spannvorrichtungsblase, um den Folienstrang freizugeben.
14. Der Wickelarm bewegt sich um die Ladung herum.
15. Das FDS erhebt sich und legt die Folie an die Ladung an. Die Geschwindigkeit des Wickelarms erhöht sich bis sie die maximale Anzahl an U/Min erreicht.
16. Der Palletengriff kommt zum Einsatz und führt eine voreingestellte Anzahl an unteren Wicklungen an der Ladung durch.
17. Das FDS erhebt sich zum oberen Teil der Ladung und und führt eine voreingestellte Anzahl an oberen Wicklungen durch.
18. Das FDS senkt sich zum unteren Teil der Ladung hinab.
19. Bei der letzten Umdrehung wird der Folienspanner zurückgezogen.
20. Die Geschwindigkeit der Wickelarms verringert sich bis die Ausgangsposition erreicht ist.
21. Der Wickelarm stoppt an der Ausgangsposition automatisch.
22. Die Maschine kann die nächste Ladung akzeptieren.

6.3 Bedienelemente

„Help“ – ermöglicht den Zugriff auf das Hilfe-Menü. Damit kann der Bediener Fehler- und Alarmmeldungen finden und korrigieren.
„Alarm Reset“ – Hiermit löschen Sie den Alarmzustand und starten die Maschine. Diese Schaltfläche wird nur auf dem Display angezeigt, wenn ein Alarm auftritt.
