The first one denotes the notion of chasitity, to be chaste, virtuous, etc.
The second one is broader and more abstract. If تعفف is written stand-alone, then it is contextual, and therefore we have to add more context between brackets to clarify the term, i.e. in case of the Verse, [from begging].
