German to English Tech/Engineering Materials (Plastics, Ceramics, etc.)

that's the whole sentence and the client also put the core term in " ...", perhaps because it is a bit of a puzzled to him too, not only to me. A double puzzle in fact, because I also need it in English and I do not fancy "switchable adhesive mass". Most any help appreciated.
