this might help to get an idea of what X had done before in those pre-market checks...

to Harald with thanks but no, that's not it. You ignore the PRE... I am very familiar with Market Tests i.e. 'Markttest' both as term and even more by hands-on experience of the past. I am looking here for something like MARKT-VORUNTERSUCHUNG and shall in fact use it unless something better crops up. This Pre-Market-Check is a step or two prior to an actual market test. And in that sense it is irrelevant whether it is about paper clips or apples, as I mentioned above. - Thanks anyway for your efforts.
