ADDRESSES

Non-PRO English Other Other General
Not really a translation question.

What do you do with addresses when translating? For example if I had the address The London Centre, Popular Street, London, although the whole address can be translated I presume you leave it as it is?

I wouldn't translate the address.

agree Noni Gilbert Riley : Exactly - the address needs to be in the form that the postie will understand!

agree Tony M : My own feeling is that if the address is going to be used for postal purposes, it needs to be left in the language the delivery person will be able to read! If not for postal purposes, then it is often best to translate things like city names.
