Spanish to English Bus/Financial Economics
A text about Argentina's recovery in the 2000s. The obvious translation of tax pressure would seem to me to be just the opposite:

la conjunción de una serie de características de la macroeconomía potenció la recuperación económica: un tipo de cambio real comparativamente alto y estable, términos de intercambio históricamente elevados que permitieron mantener el superávit comercial a pesar de la baja producida en los saldos físicos, un resultado positivo de la cuenta corriente, la importante recuperación de las tasas de ahorro e inversión, todo ello de la mano de mayor presión tributaria y restructuración de la deuda pública, junto con, entre otros factores, un espacio fiscal históricamente elevada

As I understand it, the higher tax rate helped the country's economic recovery (but not necessarily that of the man on the street!).

[improved] tax collections

See the web reference below. It explains how, prior to Argentina's economic recovery, its tax collections were poor. The country implemented a variety of measures to improve revenue collections, including not allowing drivers to leave the country until they had provided proof of payment. I understand how using "pressure" in English could be confusing to the reader, so my translation more reflects the end result of this pressure.
