French term

justifie la sous-mention

French to English Other Tourism & Travel Promoting local produce at a regional market
Help please. L’offre sera complétée par des productions issues en priorité du x dont elle fait partie et qui " justifie la sous-mention" du marché du terroir, produits du Parc naturel.

My (rough) translation: The range of products on offer will be supplemented by products from the x, of which it is a part thereby justifying the ?????? reference to the local market, produce from the Natural Park.

Discussion

jennylynn Jul 17, 2020:
I would use "not to mention" for "justifie la sous-mention."
jethro (asker) Jul 12, 2020:
lack of/ hardly any reference to ???
Timothy Rake Jul 12, 2020:
Unravel the syntax In my mind, “noteworthy” seems applicable...”which makes local (terroir) products from the Natural Park noteworthy.”

justifies the complementary label

Hello
I might be off track here but if we are talking about produce from a certain area or made in a certain way, I would have thought "label" would fit the bill.
"Complementary label" is based on the reference

Hello
Where no physical label is involved like in advertising on TV, use "appellation" or "description" (PhilGoddard's note) instead perhaps
Note from asker:
I do believe you might be on the right track. Wow, well done. Thanks a lot.

agree philgoddard : Or description.

Thanks Philgoddard; I was just thinking about this and if/where there is no physical label involved, I was going to say "appellation". I'll add this to the notes

as proven/certified by the endorsement (on the label)

I read this as products that are being certified as loccal produce from a natural park

It's a kind of "appellation" although most EN-speakers would only associate that word in connection with win

justifies the previously mentioned

"L'offre sera complétée par des productions issues en priorité due dont elle fait partie et que justifie la sous mention du marché de terroir, produits du Parc Naturel."
"The offer will be complemented (supplemented) by the products issued in due course (priority), of which it forms a part, and which justifies the previously mentioned market for local produce from the Nature Reserve."
Peer comment(s):

neutral SafeTex : confusion between "surmentionné" (previously) et "sous-mentionné" and "(sous) mention" and it's not the market that is justified but the label/appellation

You need to be very wary of automatically using 'justify'.
