Insurance
Geschäftsführer-Anstellungsvertrag
DE:
If, however, I care to have a look here https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/AOK_Niedersachsen , here https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/AOK_Nordwest and so forth, I cannot discern any traces of a "local" insurance company anymore.
However, my question is, will I, as per your assessment, still get a complaint from the Dutch/Italian agency, if I put the following reality-checked translation:
EN:
If no claim to sick pay exists, within the meaning of this paragraph sick pay shall mean the amount that the Managing Director would have received at the competent ***regional health insurance company (AOK)*** commensurate with his income.
The source country is indeed Germany.
Best regards,

state/regional health insurance provider
Wikipedia:
I think "regional" would also be an acceptable alternative, as "state" could be ambiguous.

from a standard health insurance policy/provider
I would toss the local and replace it with standard: ...he would receive from a standard insurance policy proportional to his income.
Why competent?
https://www.google.com/search?q=standard health insurance pr...
Standard Form or Standard Policy — an insurance policy form that is designed to be used by many different insurers and has exactly the same provisions, regardless of the insurer issuing the policy.

German term (edited):
Ortskrankenkasse > DEU
Local Health Insurance Fund > DEU
I'd gravitate towards Local Health Ins. Fund for German consumption for two principal reasons: 1. local is confirmed as EU-fähig so fit and resilient by IATE and 2. regional could cause a mix-up with Gebietskrankenkasse in Austria - cut to WGKK > Wiener Gebietskrankenkasse of which I am a member: it's not an Ortskrankenkasse.
Example sentence:
AUT: regional health insurance funds (GKKs), currently one for each of the nine federal states (Bundesländer)
IATE: SOCIAL QUESTIONS EP de Ortskrankenkasse EP en local sickness fund EP

Thanks, David. 'Great minds' think alike whilst it is IMO unwise to stray from an official EU translation on IATE.

: As Sebastian says, and my reference shows, they're not "local".
